Peta Murgatroyd Shows Off 14-Week Bikini Baby Bump, Talks ‘Crazy’ Pregnancy Diet
Peta Murgatroyd is no longer hiding her pregnancy. In fact, the champion Dancing With the Stars pro dancer is flaunting it! Peta recently posted a photo which has her showing off her baby bump while wearing a leopard print bikini. Peta captioned the pic: “Chillin’ at almost 14 weeks.”
Peta Murgatroyd and her fiancé Maksim Chmerkovskiy recently confirmed rumors that they are expecting their first child in January. Peta recently revealed to People magazine that she tried to keep her pregnancy a secret from her winning DWTS partner, Nyle DiMarco, but he figured it out.
“I was so sick,” Murgatroyd told People. “Nyle would see me falling asleep on the couches and on the floor of the rehearsal studio. He’d look at me like, ‘What’s going on?’ And I’d go, ‘Oh, I’m just tired.'”
Peta revealed that Nyle finally sent her a text telling her he knew what was up. Murgatroyd added that she and Maks told their parents about their baby news before confirming it to anyone else.
“The first people we told were our parents,” Murgatroyd revealed. “We Skyped them and they were all extraordinarily elated. They have been waiting for this for so long. My parents have wanted me to be pregnant for so long and Maks has been wanting a baby for a long time. I can’t wait to be a mom!”
Now that they have officially announced their baby news, Peta and Maks have not shied away from chronicling the pregnancy on social media. Peta recently shared a pic of Maks kissing her baby bump and he shared a photo of their child’s sonogram.
As for how she’s handling her pregnancy, Peta told People she was extremely nauseous in her first trimester, but now she feels much better and she has definite food cravings.
“I’m glad I ate really healthily before I got pregnant because I don’t crave McDonald’s and doughnuts and stuff like that,” Murgatroyd said. “My diet right now is crazy. I crave fresh fruit and pickles and I’ll have everything at the same time. I’ll have organic salsa and chips and then pineapple, and I’ll finish it with two pickles.”
Maks added that Peta’s “clean lifestyle” has made her pregnancy easier. While the couple does not know the sex of their baby yet, Chmerkovskiy joked that they will be in trouble with a mini Maks running around, so hopefully the baby will “be a lot like Peta.” Peta Murgatroyd told the magazine that she is looking forward to “putting all our energy into this beautiful soul.”
Maks and Peta’s Dancing With the Stars family is also excited about the bundle of joy, with host Tom Bergeron even joking about Maks’ prenatal connection to the baby.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd got engaged last New Year’s Eve in front of an audience full of fans during a performance of SWAY: A Dance Trilogy in Miami. Since then, the superstar couple has shared a few details of their wedding plans, telling E! News they plan to tie the knot in New York City next July. In an interview with Us Weekly, Peta said Maks will make a great father.
“He wants to take care of everybody that he knows,” Murgatroyd said of her man. “[He’s] somebody that I’ve always seen as being a great father and a great husband.”
Now that the baby news is out of the bag, Peta Murgatroyd is focusing on her pregnancy and will then have six months to plan her wedding after baby Chmerkovskiy is born.
