Now that FX has released the first image for Season 6, Zap2It has reported one of the most popular American Horror Storytheories for the theme of the upcoming season. They believe that the released photo indicates that a new theme centered around Damien and the Antichrist will be coming to TV screens this fall.
The end of June is the latest that fans have ever had to wait for a few scraps of information about the upcoming AHS season. Normally, Ryan Murphy at least tells some details of the theme at PaleyFest. It has been months since the television festival has come and gone and still there has been very little divulged about the upcoming season.
One thing that never will change about Ryan Murphy or American Horror Story would be the well-placed clues that have been a part of every season since the very first. Ever since releasing the newest picture, fans of the show have been studying the curious number 6 and trying to find anything that Murphy may have hidden in the image.

There is a pretty popular fan theory that the entire American Horror Story series will stop with nine seasons. The reasoning is that the FX show is believed to be based on Dante’s Inferno, and that each season is meant to signify a different level of hell.
If that is the direction that Ryan Murphy is taking AHS, then it would mean Season 6 is special because of the significance of the number itself. Many are starting to believe that Murphy may have taken on the theme of the Antichrist for the upcoming season and if so, it may just be the most terrifying season yet.
Ryan Murphy has been rather open about casting this season but that hasn’t helped as far as figuring out the plot. Lady Gaga was the first actor to confirm a Season 6 return to American Horror Story. Then at PaleyFest, Ryan Murphy did say that everyone on the panel with him was invited back as well. That means Finn Wittrock, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare, Kathy Bates, and Sarah Paulson are all probably coming back to the FX hit.
Despite a few rumors and a lot of hoping and praying, Jessica Lange confirmed again that she is not coming back to AHS, not even for a cameo. When asked in a recent interview with Charlie Rose, Lange made it quite clear that she is retired from the FX hit.
“No, I had four years with that, four seasons, and each year was a marvelous character,” Lange said. “Everything changed from one year to another which made it very interesting to me. But no, I think sometimes you come to the end of something.”

Ryan Murphy also revealed during PaleyFest that the newest season of American Horror Story may have two different themes although he never disclosed what those themes may be. Season 6 will reportedly be set in the present but is expected to have a lot of flashbacks to the past.
Now that American Horror Story has begun filming, fans can expect many more details to emerge as the premiere date for Season 6 grows closer. Tell us what you think of the new photo and theories floating around about the upcoming season in the comments section below.
