Demi Lovato Breaks Out With Hit Single, Win At VMAs

Demi Lovato had a great week, with a big win at the MTV Video Music Awards and a breakout hit with “Give Your Heart A Break.”

Chosen as the opening act at the VMAs was quite an honor for the singer, Reality TV Magazine noted.

“I’m so honored to be a performer for the VMAs,” Demi Lovato said. “I watched them when I was growing up, and I still do. They’re awesome. It’s crazy.”

For Demi Lovato, the VMAs were a night of firsts. She performed for the first time, was nominated for the first time, and took home an award for the first time in the Best Video with a Message award. Her song “Skyscraper” from the Unbroken album netted Demi Lovato the honor.

It was a nice change for Demi Lovato’s, whose fashion has made news in the past. The newest X Factor judge turned heads last month when she unveiled a look that was uncannily similar to another pop star.

A picture tweeted by Demi Lovato shows the young singer looking like she could be Lady Gaga’s twin, with “eyebrows honed like a pair of scythes, hair bleached in the exact same shade of Mother-Monster fabulous, lips etched with laser precision,” E! News noted. It made the E! wonder just why Demi Lovato would want to masquerade as Lady Gaga when she has her own distinct style to show off.

But now with her VMA win and her hit single, Demi Lovato can be known more for her music than her clothes. She summed up the sentiment in a tweet at the conclusion of the awards, “Leaving VMAs … what an amazing night!!”
