High School Cheerleader Hailey Suder Charged In Connection With Torture, Beating Death Of Homeless Man [Video]

An 18-year-old high school cheerleader, Hailey Suder, has been charged with being an accessory to murder due to the role she played in the unconscionable torture and beating death of a California homeless man. The victim, 50-year-old George Lowery, was reportedly abducted, tortured and beaten to death in Santee, California in late April. The high school cheerleader is believed to have not only been present at the time of the man’s murder, but also to have helped the two teens who suspected of the actual murder to flee the scene of the horrific crime.

Hailey Suder was originally charged with first-degree murder for watching her boyfriend and his brother bind, beat, and ultimately kill Lowery, but those charges were reduced on Monday. The high school cheerleader has pleaded not guilty. She has reportedly been released from custody pending trial.

Her boyfriend and his brother, Austin and Preson Mostrong, were arrested for their suspected roles in the death of the homeless man and are both being held on $3 million bail. They have been in custody since early May, reports Heavy.

Hailey Suder, the high school cheerleader, was nearing the end of her senior year at Santana High School when the 50-year-old was beaten to death, allegedly by her boyfriend Austin and his brother. Both brothers are facing murder and torture charges for the parts they are suspected of playing in the cold-hearted slaying.

“This was a brutal, heinous, just cold-hearted case, and as the evidence comes out, I’d say the murder charges and the torture charges are very much warranted in this case.”

Authorities believe that Hailey Suder was present at the time of the killing, standing by as the beating took place, not rendering aid or contacting authorities. The victim was found, still alive, bound and under debris, but he ultimately succumbed to his extensive injuries.

According to the victim’s wife, Penny, she and her husband were living along the San Diego River when he was brutally murdered. Penny is the one who found her husband, unconscious and beaten, after the fatal attack. According to Penny Lowery, her husband was killed out of pure revenge and spite. She says that the previous week, he had protected a fellow homeless man from a paintball assault at the hands of high school cheerleader Hailey’s boyfriend, taking the paintball gun from Austin.

It was roughly a week later, on April 24, that Hailey Suder’s boyfriend and his brother allegedly beat the homeless man to death while the high school cheerleader looked on and then helped them flee the scene, according to charging documents.

George Lowery passed away on April 29, and his organs were donated to help save the lives of others.

According to reports, high school cheerleader Hailey Sauder was arrested in late May, the day after she was supposed to have graduated from high school. According to the cheerleader herself, she didn’t walk because her grades were too low to participate in the graduation ceremony.

After her arrest, her failing grade became the least of the high school cheerleader’s concerns.

Both Hailey Suder’s boyfriend Austin and his brother Preston have pleaded not guilty to torturing and murdering the homeless man. However, Austin Mostrong was charged with misdemeanor battery and resisting an officer only four days prior to allegedly torturing and killing Lowery. He reportedly pleaded guilty to those crimes and was given probabtion; the charges in that instance were related to attacking two other homeless men in the same area.

Neighbors and friends say that before Hailey Suder began dating Austin, she was a “nice girl.”

“If you know they’re beating the guy to death, stop it. Do anything you can. Yell for help. Remember that some day that could be you. You never know where life’s going to take you.”

If she is convicted of being an accessory to the murder of George Lowery, high school cheerleader Hailey Suder faces up to three years in prison.

Following the murder of the homeless man, allegedly at the hands of the high school cheerleaders boyfriend and his brother, the victim’s father set up a GoFundMe account to help with his medical and final expenses. To date, it has only raised just over $3,000 of the $10,000 being sought.

“My father George Alan Lowery was attacked April 24th 2016. My mother Penny found her husband of 25 years brutally beaten, bloody, tied up, face down and unconscious. Covered up to die. When the ambulances arrived they preformed life saving measures he was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was told there was no hope for him surviving.”

Many people believe that Hailey Suder is literally getting away with murder because the charges against her were reduced. What do you think? Should the high school cheerleader face the same charges as the men who allegedly beat and tortured this homeless man to death because she did nothing to stop the crime? Is charging high school cheerleader Hailey Suder as simply an accessory fair or a miscarriage of justice?
