‘Fuller House’ Spoilers: A Thanksgiving Episode Is On The Menu For Season 2

Fuller House is going home for the holidays — and guess who’s coming to dinner? The second season of the Netflix Full House spinoff will feature a Thanksgiving episode, according to TV Line. Full House leads Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), John Stamos (Uncle Jesse), and Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone) will all appear on the holiday-themed episode, marking the first Fuller House scenes they will all be in together since the spinoff’s inaugural reunion episode earlier this year.

Several Fuller House stars, including Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin, posted photos from the cast’s table reading for the upcoming Thanksgiving storyline, getting fans excited for the upcoming 13-episode season.

And fans are definitely hungry for a holiday-themed episode. The original Full House aired for a whopping eight seasons, from 1988 to 1996, but there was only one Thanksgiving episode during the entire run of the ABC series. Sure, it was a memorable one — Season 1’s “The Miracle of Thanksgiving” — but it has been a really long time since fans gave thanks with the Tanners.

“The Miracle of Thanksgiving” detailed the Tanner daughters’ first holiday without their mother, and it was especially poignant as D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure) attempted to prepare the holiday meal for the entire family, right down to her late mom’s “Picture Perfect Pumpkin Pie.” Predictably, the meal was a disaster (a frozen turkey, a fallen pumpkin pie), but the episode wrapped up with a feel-good moment within 22 minutes.

Spoilers for the second season of Fuller House have been few and far between, but in an interview with E! News, Fuller House star and executive producer John Stamos said fans can expect some fun cameos and other “things people recognize” from Full House for the second round of the Netflix spinoff comedy.

“We’re adding some fun characters and the legacy cast — that’s what they’re calling us — we’re going to be spread out through the season,” Stamos said. “There are a few guest stars that could be surprises for everybody that I’m working on, but as far as the show, we’re just in a better place to make a good, solid sitcom now.”

According to Glamour, the second batch of Fuller House episodes could feature the never-before-seen family of Coulier’s character, Joey Gladstone.

“I hope we get to meet [Joey’s] family,” Coulier told Glamour. “My wife and my children [who apparently reside in Las Vegas, per season one]. I talked to Jeff Franklin about it, so I’m in good hands…I was hoping…why not have Joey marry a showgirl, Elizabeth Berkley! Wouldn’t that be great? So I’ve been putting that out there.”

In addition, Alan Thicke, who played the father of Candace Cameron Bure’s real life brother, Kirk, on the 1980s sitcom Growing Pains, will guest star this season on Fuller House.

Fuller House stars Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner Fuller), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler), but there will be much more of their Season 1 co-stars John Brotherton (DJ’s work colleague, Matt Harmon), Juan Pablo Di Pace (Kimmy’s ex-husband, Fernando) and Ashley Liao (Lola, Kimmy’s daughter Ramona’s bestie), as they have all been promoted to series regulars. No word yet on who all will be seated at the Thanksgiving dinner table, but let’s hope we get to see a bit more of Danny Tanner’s new wife, played by Eva Larue. Or better yet, can Michelle Tanner (Mary-Kate/Ashley Olsen) please take time away from her New York fashion empire to spend time with the family for Thanksgiving?
