Robby Hayes Lied To ‘Bachelorette’ JoJo About His Ex, Hope Higginbotham: ‘He’s a Lying, Fake Person, She Deserves The Truth’

Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher’s journey to find love isn’t a smooth one with several of her guys caught up in cheating allegations and issues with their ex-girlfriends. Contestant Robby Hayes is one of the men who will face some challenging questions about his true intentions with JoJo after she is informed that he ditched a long-term relationship to come on the show.

Who is Robby Hayes’ ex-girlfriend, what does JoJo know about his relationship, and does his ex come on the show to set the record straight? Here’s the latest scoop on the lies that may get in the way of Robby’s quest for the final rose.

Robby Hayes didn’t seem to catch JoJo’s eye during the first few episodes, but after a make-out session on a pool table during the Week 4 group date after-party, the Bachelorette was clearly smitten with the 27-year-old sales rep and former All-American swimmer who currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida.

After their kiss, Fletcher admitted to the cameras that she felt “safe and comfortable” with Robby and her feelings for him will multiply when she goes on a one-on-one date with him on Episode 5 on June 20. However, despite her attraction to Hayes, JoJo will soon start to question his true intentions when she finds out about his ex-girlfriend of four years, Florida-based realtor Hope Higginbotham.

In ABC’s Bachelorette Season 12 video trailer above, fans will see JoJo questioning Robby about his ex-girlfriend. According to Reality Steve, this happens during the overnight dates in Thailand, so Robby obviously charmed his way through the hometown dates and made it to the Fantasy Suite before JoJo was informed by producers about the relationship he recently ended with Hope Higginbotham.

“Robby, just be honest with me — did you break up with her when you found out you were going to be on the show,” JoJo asks Robby during their overnight date.

Robby tells JoJo that he’s being “completely honest” about his breakup, but one of the other guys says in a voice-over that he is a “lying, fake person” and JoJo deserves to know the truth about him.

Reality Steve reports that Robby left Hope right before filming started in March. The kicker? She reportedly had no idea that he was going on the show.

“I’ve been told she had no idea he was on the show until after he’d already left. He never told her he had been talking to the show, was thinking of going on, or had agreed to do it.”

A quick look at Hope’s Instagram account reveals that she not only looks a lot like JoJo, she isn’t ready to let go of her relationship with Robby. There are still a number of photos of their time spent together as a couple on Instagram and they still follow each other on Twitter.

According to Reality Steve, Hope does not show up on the Bachelorette to face Robby. However, if spoilers are correct, JoJo sends Robby home at the final rose ceremony — perhaps he didn’t completely convince her during their overnight date that he came on the show for the right reasons.

Although it’s not unusual to have at least one guy come on the show to build his brand or with the intention of becoming the future Bachelor, JoJo Fletcher has more than her share of guys who are there for the wrong reasons this season.
