Cavs Game 7 Watch Party $5 Tickets Sell Out: Selling For $200 Each On Ebay

According to Twitter, the term “watch party” is trending, all because the Cavs won Game 6 on Thursday evening, meaning there will be an NBA Finals Game 7 on Sunday, June 19. However, that Game 7 will not be played at Cleveland’s beloved “The Q” Arena. There will be a watch party for Cleveland Cavs fans at the Q and as such, all the watch party tickets, which are normally $5, sold out quickly.

On eBay, the sold listings for the Game 7 watch party tickets are going for big bucks, as witnessed when one sorts the sold listings by the highest prices paid.

On eBay, one sold listing is titled “4 Tickets Cavs NBA Finals Game 7 Q Arena Watch Party with parking!” That particular listing proved that Cavs fans were willing to shell out $795 for four tickets to the Cavs Game 7 watch party at the Q. The four-pack of watch party tickets also included a parking pass. That means someone was willing to pay almost $200 each for a Cavs watch party ticket that normally sold for only $5 each.

Another sold listing is titled “6 Cleveland Cavaliers Cavs v Warriors Watch Party Tickets NBA Finals Game 7 6/19.” Those watch party tickets sold for a bit less, at around $83 for each watch party ticket.

And then there is the listing titled “2 Cavs vs Warriors NBA Finals Game 7 Q Arena Watch Party Tickets VIP CLUB.” With those two tickets going for $300 for the pair, that means folks paid $150 each for the watch party Cavs tickets. With proclamations that the tickets are for viewing the Cavs Game 7 from the VIP club level, those buyers should be able to have a beautiful vantage point to watch the game, since the VIP levels are higher up and closer to the jumbo screens at the Q Arena.

The reason for the willingness of Cavs fans to pay so much to sit in an arena and watch Game 7 on the jumbo screens without one Cleveland Cavalier player actually being in the building is because the watch party is being billed as the chance to watch the Cavs make history and clinch a championship.

The fact that Sunday is Father’s Day adds an extra reason for people being willing to pay so much money for the watch party Cavs tickets, which could make for a nice gift for many dads who are also Cavs fans.

All those who attend the Game 7 watch party will also get Cavs T-shirts.

Meanwhile, reactions to the Cavs Game 7 watch party tickets going for such high amounts aren’t all positive. Because of the charitable bend of the $5 Cavs tickets, certain folks are tweeting that it is selfish for folks to buy tickets for $5 and resell them for high amounts. Other realize it is just a capitalist move in an entrepreneurial society.

“The Cavs sold out their ‘watch party’ in 28 seconds! Impressive.”

“If you are a season ticket holder and trying to scalp your watch party tickets, shame on you. This is the whole reason you signed up!

“Even though it is a baseball field, a watch party would be sick at Progressive Field, since the Q is sold out.”

“Cavs watch party went on sale and sold out in 28 seconds. Explains why no tickets were available at 10:02 a.m. Go Cavs!”

“The Browns stadium should be open for the watch party on Sunday too.”

“Crazy the watch party tickets are sold OUT. Guess I’m bringing a chair. LOL.”

As seen in the top photo above Steph Curry attempts a shot with LeBron James on his back in Game 6. Curry got so frustrated on Thursday, June 16, that he threw his mouth guard into the crowd and hit a Cavs fan.

As a result of the buzz, Twitter reports terms such as “selling watch party tickets,” “Cavs watch party,” “watch party Cavs” and “watch party tickets” as related search terms that are trending. Also, the @cavs Twitter account is receiving lots of attention.
