Amy Schumer Takes Anna Wintour’s Place For ‘Vogue’

Amy Schumer has been Vogue‘s go-to girl this month as she is not only ready to cover their July issue but has also been granted the reigns by taking over for Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour in a hilarious video.

Schumer looks incredible on the magazine’s cover, and clearly, she couldn’t only be seen in the publication; she was sure to be heard as the boss babe of the well-known magazine.

The Observer notes the hilarity of the exchange of roles.

“While Schumer struggles through a run-through with fashion editors Tonne Goodman and Virginia Smith, Wintour seems to hit her stride as a stand-up comedienne. Clearly, it’s worth a watch. Wintour’s daughter, Bee Shaffer has been honing her comedic chops who as a segment producer for Seth Meyers, and her mother proves that a sense of humor might run in the family, through this life swapping experiment.”

It’s hard to imagine Anna Wintour with a sense of humor considering she seems extremely stern in manner and appearance when in the public view. This little video certainly helps to make the successful editor for one of the world’s most popular publications seem more personable.

Within the cover story about Schumer, the star discusses news about the upcoming fourth season of her hit show, Inside Amy Schumer, and also chats about her soon-to-be-released memoir, The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo. The candid interview even includes Schumer’s sharing of an exclusive excerpt from the memoir, which is titled “My Only One-Night Stand.”

The Observer notes the photography to be expected and the fashionable ensembles that the funny girl will don within the publication’s pages.

“In a not-so-shocking move, the photos were taken by Annie Leibovitz, but unfortunately there are no corgis or royal babies in sight. Schumer wears a bright red Dolce & Gabbana dress on the cover and within the pages she dons a coat from The Row, paired with Jimmy Choo heels. In the issue, Schumer reveals that she’s still dating a normal, the 29 year old Ben Hanisch, who works as a furniture designer in Chicago.”

Although Amy Schumer has always made her comedy about her hard-partying lifestyle and drinking, the comedian has interestingly enough shared that she’s opting for a more healthy lifestyle that involves selecting healthy juicing beverages over alcohol and has also shared that she enjoys acupuncture treatments to keep her grounded and focused. Such drastic changes in her lifestyle will likely change her content during stand-up comedy sets, but there is no doubt that the hilarious star will still bring the funny no matter what the subject matter.

Unfortunately, Amy Schumer’s last feature in a well-known magazine involved a unbeknownst-to-the-star addition in the plus-sized section. Schumer did not react well to this out of annoyance that a publication would consider someone of her healthy proportions plus size.

By way of Instagram, Schumer reacted to her inclusion in a plus sized feature in the most poignant and honest of ways. Vogue shared the star’s words from Schumer’s post from April.

“I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size,. Beautiful healthy women. [But]plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8.”

Amy Schumer is not one to shy away from poking fun at and being candid about her own body and its flaws. The star admirably reacts in a manner that reminds the media and fashion industry that categorizing a size 6 individual as plus size can severely impact young girls who are already under pressures of society to be perfect and are very easily influenced.
