‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 4 Spoilers: New Characters, Relationships, And Dangers Heading To Netflix’s ‘OITNB’

Netflix took something of a gamble when they debuted Orange Is the New Black back in 2013 as one of their first original titles. However, it’s a gamble that certainly appears to have paid off, as the incredibly successful show heads into its fourth season. In fact, Orange Is the New Black Season 4 looks to step up the game once again, introducing new cast members, relationships amongst fan-favorite characters, and a whole host of new dangers for the prisoners of Litchfield.

According to the International Business Times, Season 4 of Orange Is the New Black looks to be the series’ most action-packed yet. Netflix has already released a full trailer for the series ahead of its return on June 17, giving away a number of key spoilers around what the upcoming season will entail.

The third season of Orange Is the New Black came to a close on perhaps the show’s biggest cliffhanger yet as one of the show’s key characters, Alex Vause, played by Laura Prepon, was left fighting for her life, casting a shadow of doubt over the future of the series. Season 3 of the show watched Alex grapple with paranoia before seeing the past catch up with her as drug linchpin Kubra Balik made his way into the prison disguised as a corrections officer, casting doubt over the future of Vause and Piper Chapman, played by Taylor Schilling.

According to Pop Sugar, at the heart of the new season of Orange Is the New Black will be an array of new characters played by new cast members. At the end of Season 3, viewers saw busloads of new inmates arriving at Litchfield, throwing a bunch of new characters into the already colourful roster. Judy King, played by Blair Brown, is set to be one of the most prominent of those new characters, as viewers saw the television chef sentenced to time behind bars in Season 3.

Netflix has also promised that introducing more inmates into the fictional prison of Litchfield Penitentiary will also mean new guards. Orange Is the New Black is well known for its clashes between inmates and COs. With that in mind, it’ll be interesting to see how the new characters adapt to their environment.

Since it’s initial release in 2013, Orange Is the New Black has quickly become one of Netflix’s most popular shows. The prison-based comedy-drama launched not far behind Netflix’s signature original series, House of Cards. Both series have found themselves being consistently renewed for new seasons, thanks to the success of Netflix and their original series.

The Netflix Originals line has become home to some of the biggest shows on TV, whether those shows be dramas, comedies, or documentaries. Aside from creating their own series such as Orange Is the New Black and House of Cards, Netflix has also seen a good deal of success in rebooting sitcoms, including Arrested Development and Fuller House. At the same time, Netflix has partnered with Marvel to produce the incredibly successful Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

Orange Is the New Black Season 4 returns to Netflix on June 17. As is customary of Netflix releases, the entire fourth season of the show will be available to watch instantly, meaning that fans of the show won’t have to wait for a weekly release of their favorite show.
