The Trailer For Rob Zombie’s ’31’ Brings The Fear And The Clowns To Terrify Your Dreams

Rob Zombie has dabbled in numerous business ventures including his incredibly successful music career as well as acting and writing/directing. It seems as if he is choosing to do more directing as he gets older, but his releases are for a unique crowd of viewers. Zombie is one that brings forth horror movies in ways that are not just scary but disturbing and downright terrifying. Well, he may have actually outdone himself as the trailer for 31 shows.

Those that have never seen one of Rob Zombie’s movies before need to be prepared. If you’ve only seen his versions of Halloween, then you also need to be prepared. Zombie has truly returned to disturbing and intense horror with 31.

As reported by Screen Rant, the majority of the cast that is seen in 31 can be seen in many of Rob Zombie’s other films. Making another exciting return is Malcolm McDowell who plays the role of the very unstable and odd Father Murder.

In the movie, a group of carnival workers are just looking to have some fun but end up being kidnapped and held hostage on the night before Halloween. For 12 hours, the group must figure out how to survive some of the scariest and most dangerous things to ever come anyone’s way in a game that is simply called “31.”

This film is not just the weird mind of Rob Zombie working at full speed, but it’s one that a lot of fans wanted to happen. AV Club called it the “clown movie that just won’t die” last year, and it ended up getting more than enough money on FanBacked to come into existence.

Many fans made straight-up donations, but Zombie did also auction off props from his other movies that brought in even more money, and therefore made this trailer possible.

It’s not easy to watch that and think that everything is going to be alright the next time you visit a carnival or see a clown in front of you. The official synopsis for Rob Zombie’s 31 doesn’t reveal a whole lot into what horror is coming your way, but it may be more fun that way.

“From the visionary mind of Rob Zombie comes the horrific story of five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large compound. At the mercy of their captors, they are forced to play a twisted game or life or death called 31. For the next 12 hours they must fight for their lives against an endless parade of homicidal maniacs.”

There’s a bit of House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects thrown together with more of Zombie’s demented mind thrown in. It’s kind of odd seeing Sheri Moon Zombie (Rob’s wife) on the non-psycho end of things, though.

Some may truly think that this could be way too deep into the sick mind of Rob Zombie as it may surpass anything he has done in the past.

Fans can watch 31 when it hits theaters on October 21, and it’s going to also star Elizabeth Daily, Meg Foster, Malcolm McDowell, Meg Foster, Judy Geeson, Sandra Rosko, Richard Brake, and Sheri Moon Zombie.

31 is not going to win any Academy Awards or SAG Awards, but Rob Zombie isn’t trying to do that with his movie. This film has quite the simple premise, but it brings fans back to the hardcore horror that is actually scary and not simply trendy. The first trailer for Zombie’s film shows some very strange and freakish things that will likely haunt your dreams, but you can be sure that 31 is going to bring so much more and create nightmares.
