‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For June 10, Red Death Returns

Xûr has hit up the Tower once again in Destiny. The Agent of the Nine has dropped in to visit PlayStation and Xbox players on Friday with a collection of Exotic goods that includes the Red Death, Glasshouse, and more.

Destiny players looking for Xûr should turn right and head toward the hangar after spawning at the Tower. Once you’ve gone through the long hallway and entered the hangar, turn right, and you will see the seller of Exotics. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map, just to be sure.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Red Death

Destiny Red Death Exotic Pulse Rifle

The Red Death perk is a crucial weapon in the toughest PVE encounters like Crota’s End simply because of the perk that carries the same name. This perks fully regenerates player health after each kill. The Unflinching perk also makes this a great weapon for PVP, as it helps you keep your aim steady while you’re being shot.

The Pulse Rifle was favored in the Crucible for quite a while, but balance changes to the entire weapon class reduced its effectiveness and use in multiplayer.

The Glasshouse

The Glasshouse is the other Defender specialty Titan Helmet. If you play as a Titan who likes to drop the Ward of Dawn bubble shield and give the Weapons of Light or Blessing of Light perks to your teammates in Raids or other activities, you should absolutely buy this. The “Bathed in Light” perk on the helmet makes Weapons of Light or Blessing of Light last an extra five seconds. This is extremely helpful for a fireteam in PVE boss fights, as it will allow either dishing out or absorbing damage even longer. The Helm of Saint-14 is more of a companion to the piece, as both fit different uses for the Ward of Dawn.

Optional Glasshouse perks include “Inverse Shadow” for bonus Super energy from kills in PVE and “Second Thoughts” for Super energy from Special Weapon kills in PVE. The single final column perk is “Better Already” for shield recovery on Orb pickup.

The 47 Intellect and 46 Strength split stat roll is decent for Defender Titans in Destiny. The “Inverse Shadow” perk roll combined with “Better Already” make it ideal for PVE.

Don’t Touch Me

The Don’t Touch Me Gauntlets for Hunters come with the “Defensive Reflex” signature perk that will briefly turn your character invisible when hit with a melee attack. These are best used as a defensive piece in PVE for any section where you are swarmed by enemies.

The optional perks grant a choice between “Switchblade” and “Impact Induction” for either decreased melee cool down or bonus grenade energy on melee hits. The faster reload option is between Scout Rifles and Sniper Rifles.

The pure 63 Strength fits well with the purpose of these Gauntlets.

The Ram

Bungie gave The Ram a bit of a nerf for Year Two, but it’s still an incredibly useful helmet to turn Warlocks into tanks in both Crucible and PVE activities. The “Strength of the Ram” perk not only gives extra Armor, but also activates Voidwalker’s Life Steal ability on every melee hit. This Helmet still stacks well with the Sunsinger’s Flamestrike Overshield, as well.

The optional perks offer up a choice between “Inverse Shadow” and “Heavy Lifting” for bonus Super energy either from PVE kills or Heavy Weapon Kills. The final column perk is “Infusion” to replenish health when you pick up an Orb of Light.

The 48 Discipline and 48 Strength split stat is decent enough for The Ram, and “Inverse Shadow” plus “Infusion” is a perfect combo for PVE. Consider re-rolling only if you need more Strength.
