Selena Gomez’s Selenators Fire Back At Chris Rock On Twitter, Justin Bieber Defends Ex-Girlfriend

Selenators are not letting Chris Rock get away that easily. After the Top Five star publicly dissed Selena Gomez on Twitter, her fans quickly came to her defense and bashed the comedian.

A couple of days ago, Chris Rock shared a meme of Selena Gomez, showing the singer wearing an outfit on her Revival tour that was quite similar to what Beyonce wore on her Formation World tour. The meme read: “When you buy your formation tickets on craigslist.” While the Rock was not the one who wrote the somewhat offensive caption, he did agree with the observation and posted, “This is true.”

Rock reposted the same photo last June 8. This time adding the slang, ICYMI – in case you missed it – in the caption.

It did not take long before fans of Selena Gomez, known as Selenators, saw the tweet and lashed out at Chris Rock. They held that he was rude, inconsiderate, and jealous of her success.

A few of Rock’s fans, however, commented that he was just clearly just joking. They held that Gomez’s fans should not take it too personally.

According to Us Weekly, Rock’s diss came as a surprise given that the Disney Channel alum graciously met and posed for photos with his daughters, Lola and Zahra, at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards back in 2010.

While Selena Gomez did not seem at all affected by Chris Rock’s comments, Hollywood Life claimed that her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, was furious when he saw the tweet. An insider close to the Sorry singer revealed that in spite of their failed relationship, he was still “very protective” of Gomez.

“Justin feels very protective of Selena and when he feels like she’s been disrespected, he doesn’t hold back. He wants to see Chris make things right with Selena and apologize.”

Rock, however, had no intention of ever apologizing to Gomez. A source held that, although he had nothing against her, he will not take back the snide comment, as he thought it was hilarious. Seeing how the Selenators reacted even made it funnier.

“He didn’t know he was going to get so much heat from her fans but he is taking it in stride. He is not going to apologize either… Chris wants to be funny, and sometimes you offend people with no sense of humor, it is just a part of the job.”

In spite of the success of her new album and sold out world tour, many still insist that Selena Gomez cannot sing to save her life. In an interview with Us Weekly, she said that she wanted to prove them wrong, through the Revival World tour.

“I just wanna perform. I’m not trying to dance as much as I did the last run. I really — I just wanna sing. And I wanna show people that I can sing,” she shared.

While the Wizards of Waverly Place star knew that she would never be the greatest singer in the world, she understands her strengths now more than ever. Speaking to Billboard, Selena revealed that she poured her heart on her latest album, especially on the single “Good For You.”

“I have a lot to prove, but I think, for instance, this song is totally in my register. It’s smoky and fun and sexy,” she said.
