Rumor Confirmed! Bristol Palin Drops Relationship Bombshell

The rumors have been confirmed — Bristol Palin, daughter of reality star and former governor of Alaska Sarah Palin — is married!

After a year of “baby daddy drama” with ex Dakota Meyer, including a called-off marriage and a custody battle over their shared daughter Sailor Grace, the two unexpectedly announced that they are married.

The two shared the happy, surprising news with Entertainment Tonight.

“Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be,” they told ET. “We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married!”

Didn’t see that one coming.

The 25-year-old reality star and 27-year-old Marine Corps vet sparked relationship rumors and whispers that their tumultuous, on-again, off-again romance was definitely “on again” when Dakota Meyer published a sweet, speculative post on his Facebook page, sharing a picture showing himself smiling, while a clearly happy and definitely be-ringed Palin grasps his bicep lovingly and smiles, as well.

“On one hand, we know that everything happens for a reason, and there are no mistakes or coincidences,” Meyer, 27, captioned it. “On the other hand, we learn that we can never give up, knowing that with the right tools and energy, we can reverse any decree or karma. So, which is it? Let the Light decide, or never give up? The answer is: both.”

Awww. How sweet.

Of course, many Facebook fans and friends were quick to point out that Bristol Palin clearly seemed to be wearing an engagement ring and a wedding band, but it wasn’t until Wednesday that the happy couple confirmed their news to Entertainment Tonight.

“Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be,” the newlyweds told ET. “We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married!”

The two have fueled speculation about the nature of their relationship, never admitting openly that they were officially back together, but often posting pictures of themselves to their social media accounts, usually along with their 5-month-old daughter Sailor Grace.

“Hard work and God’s grace are the foundation of our new life together, and with the love and support of our family we know we can get through anything,” Palin and her new husband told ET.

It was just a few months ago, in March of 2016, that an Alaskan judge ruled that Meyer, who lives in Kentucky, was allowed to visit their daughter Sailor Grace twice a month, for four consecutive days each time. And earlier this month, Palin agreed to change their daughter’s last name from Palin to Meyer, after the 27-year-old father filed a court petition asking that she do so.

Previously, Palin’s lawyer told People that Palin and Meyer were “talking directly and just being parents without involving the lawyers.”

The couple currently has joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, but that sounds as if it may be a moot point since the two are currently enjoying marital bliss together!

Of course, current happiness with the father of one child doesn’t mean that Palin has it any easier with the father of her first child. It was just last month that a judge ordered Palin’s other former fiance to cough up the $61,915.20 Levi Johnson owes in back child support for their 7-year-old son Tripp.

But despite a tumultuous first engagement, followed by a rough year of custody issues, rumors, hurt and anger, it seems as though Bristol Palin and husband Dakota Meyer are going to shoot for success in their marriage and family life.
