Will Demi Lovato & Wilmer Valderrama Ever Get Back Together? New Hope After Their Sad Break-Up
Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama shocked the world by announcing that they had decided to break up after six years together on June 5, but it sounds like there could be new hope the former couple may reunite.
According to reports, despite Demi and Wilmer’s surprising split, there’s actually still “a great chance” that we haven’t seen the last of the twosome together as a couple.
An insider revealed to Hollywood Life shortly after Lovato and Valderrama announced their break-up on social media last week that Demi and Wilmer “would consider getting back together” in a few years should they find themselves single in the future.
“[Demi and Wilmer] have to try something else,” Hollywood Life’s source continued of their break-up, “but they are smart enough to know that trying something else may lead them back together.”
“This is the one relationship that when they say they are still friends they mean it; it isn’t any Hollywood bulls***,” the insider continued to the site, revealing that Demi and Wilmer are planning to stay good friends in the wake of their split.
Demi and Wilmer appeared to confirm Hollywood Life’s report when announcing their break-up on social media on June 5, where Lovato and Valderrama confirmed in a joint statement that they had decided to part ways after dating for almost six years but would continue to support each other.
“After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship,” Demi and Wilmer said in the statement announcing their break-up posted to both of their social media accounts.
“This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends,” Lovato and Valderrama continued. “We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years.”
The news of Demi and Wilmer’s break-up shocked fans around the world, as Lovato only recently admitted that she was planning a serious future with the actor, including a walk down the aisle.
Demi Lovato spoke about marriage with Wilmer in an interview with New Zealand’s ZM radio show recently, where Demi confessed that she would say yes in a heartbeat if Valderrama proposed.
“I am very, very in love with him,” Demi replied when asked if she saw herself and Wilmer getting married soon. “I think we will probably wait a little bit longer, but if he asked tomorrow I would say yes.”
Demi also seriously gushed over Wilmer last year, confessing that she believes the actor saved her life after standing by her side while she struggled with addiction.
Speaking to HuffPost Live back in May 2015, just over a year before their break-up, Lovato admitted that although Wilmer doesn’t take any credit for helping Demi stay on the straight and narrow, she “wouldn’t be alive without him today.”
“We’re in control of what we’re able to post online, and we’re very open about our relationship,” Demi continued of Wilmer in the candid interview about her life and their relationship. “As I get more serious in my life, I’m more proud. I also wanted to give him a lot of credit that he never takes.”
