Vanessa Hudgens Can’t Escape ‘High School Musical,’ Especially On Karaoke Nights

Vanessa Hudgens’ name is synonymous with the Disney hit High School Musical and its sequels. From the moment she appeared in the film as Gabriella, fans of the movie fell in love with the sweetheart actress.

With talks of an upcoming High School Musical 4 on the way, Vanessa Hudgens has been taking a trip down memory lane. According to ET Online, Vanessa Hudgens has high hopes for the upcoming High School Musical film, and she is excited that a new generation of fans will be able to experience the magic that the previous generation once felt.

Vanessa Hudgens talks about her love for musicals.

“I love musicals. Being able to do musicals is such a dream of mine and the fact that they’re keeping it alive and bringing it to a new generation is really wonderful.”

She may have moved on from her High School Musical days, but Vanessa still gets the taste of what it is like to be a singer. Vanessa and the rest of her castmates from the NBC comedy Powerless go out to sing karaoke together, and on those karaoke nights, she still finds herself singing songs from High School Musical. Vanessa Hudgens on how karaoke nights bring back memories.

“We did a High School Musical [song], ‘Breaking Free,’ I was like, ‘This is so funny because I saw my name [in the karaoke song book], but it was Vanessa Anne and that was it. I was like, ‘OK, that’s interesting.’ So naturally, I had to sing myself.”

Vanessa goee on to admit what many fans have long suspected: that the catchy tunes from the film that fans couldn’t get out of their heads are also ones that the actress has found herself singing along to as well. She says that she believes the songs are a part of who she is and that they would never leave her.

Vanessa Hudgens talks about how she sings along with other people when they start singing songs from the film.

“Sometimes, someone will be like, ‘We’re all in this together,’ and then I’ll be like [starts singing], ‘We’re all in this together!’ It’s like reflexes.”

Fans of the Disney sweetheart may be happy to know that their beloved Vanessa will be back on the small screen later this year for her new show Powerless, which follows the story of employees from an insurance claim company who clean up the superheroes’ mess. At its core, Powerless is a workplace comedy set in one of the worst insurance companies. The twist and reason behind the name of the show is that it takes place in the DC Comics Universe.

The show is about the reality of living life as a regular, normal working person in a world of powerful superheroes and supervillains. Vanessa Hudgens will be playing the role of Emily Locke, an insurance claims adjuster who loves her job because she gets to help people.

And Vanessa Hudgens made an appearance at a NBC universal event held at the Radio City Music Hall in NYC while promoting her new show, according to the Daily Mail.

While Vanessa Hudgens normally irons out her hair, the event at Radio City Music Hall was a different day for Vanessa as she tried a more expressive look, showing off her festive curly tendrils. Vanessa Hudgens looked ready for summer in her yellow outfit that consisted of a tank top that was slightly cropped and pocketed wide-legged socks. Her strappy beige heels added to the already summer-themed feel. On her shoulder was a black and gold YSL purse that retails for a handsome price of $2,500. At the event, Hudgens was also joined by celebrities such as Kyle Richards and Khloe Kardashian.
