WWE News: Former WWE Superstar Claims Randy Orton Threatened People Backstage In Front Of Vince McMahon

It has been known for some time that WWE Superstar Randy Orton has a bit of a temper. Known to throw temper tantrums in his career, most looked over his complaints after a while. However, as a top guy for a large portion of his career now, he holds a position in the company that WWE values. That means his complaints, too, have to be focused on from time to time. In fact, he may very well be the reason Kofi Kingston lost the push he had going years back. He made a mistake where Orton got upset.

In fact, Orton went livid on television. He would go on to call Kofi “stupid” on live television. John Cena would even openly call Orton a bit of an a*****e. That said, he calmed down as he aged, and we didn’t hear of many tantrums from The Viper. That is, until now. Former WWE Superstar Brad Maddox sat down with the Pancakes and Powerslams Podcast and spoke about Randy Orton threatening people backstage. Maddox said the following.

“Randy Orton would get angry at something in a match. I remember a few instances when I was a referee, so I was in Gorilla Position a lot of the time. A few times he would say things or threaten other guys right there in Gorilla, and I would be standing there with my eyes wide open not believing that he is saying this in front of all of the producers and in the same room with Vince. I was kind of amazed by that.”

Maddox was not the only one who reported issues with Randy Orton; however, his position is interesting. We haven’t heard about a lot of Orton issues for some time now, at least nothing that bad. Hearing that he threatened people is terrible. However, the worst part of it may be the fact that he did it right in front of the WWE Chairman himself, Vince McMahon. Talk about playing favorites, right McMahon?

It seems like McMahon allows Randy Orton to pretty much do whatever he feels like. In fact, one of his tantrums got Vince so fired up that he fired Ken Anderson. Anderson had just returned from an injury when he hit a move on Orton a bit stiff. Orton then gave him “a receipt” by hitting his RKO move a bit hard. Orton went backstage complaining to McMahon about Anderson hurting him and by later in that week, Anderson was released from the company. This was during the “Denver Debacle” when McMahon was kind of furious about things, so it wasn’t the time for anything to go on negatively.

Most think if Triple H ran talent relations, he most likely would have not fired Anderson. However, that was not the case, and McMahon let Anderson go. The company tried to fuel rumors of Anderson getting hurt again, which Anderson proved false with a video. However, the Anderson case is just one of the many things associated to Orton over the years.

Randy Orton has gotten in trouble over his conduct in the past. He was suspended nearly 10 years ago, in August of 2006, for “unprofessional conduct.” He then discussed things during an interview with WWE Magazine just a month later.

“My problems came to a head when I decided to smoke a joint and someone smelled it and stooged me off. You know who you are, so if you’re reading this, thanks. But I also had a few outbursts of anger on the road. I get loud and verbally abusive. But I’ve nipped that part of me in the bud. I attended an anger management clinic in Atlanta. It cost 15 grand for a four-week stay. I had to live down there on the campus. The first week I was there, I was like, OK, I’ll do what I have to do to get out of here.”

Clearly, Randy Orton needs to go back to anger management. If he has not cleared up his problems 10 years later, there must be something wrong. The Anderson issue, among other things, happened a this. That being said, Randy Orton has not cleaned up his act enough if people like Brad Maddox are bringing up problems with Orton during interviews.
