Maria Sharapova Waits For Suspension Verdict With Positive Posts On Twitter

Maria Sharapova will find out whether she will suffer suspension because of her doping scandal this week, but that doesn’t mean that she is cowering in her room. She is using her Twitter to give herself as much positive vibes as she possibly can.

It has been three months since Maria Sharapova held a press conference about her doping scandal and now, the world is waiting with baited breath for her verdict.

Tennis is bracing itself for the Maria Sharapova verdict this week, with one source close to the tribunal predicting a backdated ban of a year to 18 months,” reports Daily Mail. “Given a history of leniency in the sport, it might even be less, but it seems that the 29-year-old Russian’s expensively-assembled legal team should secure her a return to the tour next year.”

While the Russian star is ready to put up a feisty legal battle over her possible suspension, she is also showing a much softer and positive side of herself on her Twitter.

She also has been making sales of her #BackIn5Minutes t-shirts, which emphasize on her quick return to court. To make sure that the world knows how much support she has, she has been retweeting many of her fans’ pictures wearing this shirt.

Maria Sharapova has been keeping her head held high throughout her temporary three-month suspension from the court.

“She was recently the centre of a scandal which saw her suspended from her tennis career,” reports the Daily Mail. “But Maria Sharapova looked casual and carefree as she stepped out for a bite to eat at Bluebird restaurant in London’s Chelsea on Sunday. The 29-year-old sportswoman opted for a nautical-inspired look for her dinner date, teaming a striped top with black capri trousers and white trainers.”

She also took the time to go to Coachella, party with the celebrities and models of Hollywood and let herself loose on the nightlife in Los Angeles. The fact that she got to enjoy a bit of youthful partying was a blessing in disguise for the over-scheduled tennis player.

The tennis player also has been focusing on her business venture, improving her personal wealth as she takes a short break from the game.

“Maria Sharapova may be provisionally banned from tennis but it is business as usual for her Sugarpova brand,” reports CNN. “Sharapova’s candy business, which she founded in 2012, will launch its first chocolate range on both sides of the Atlantic this month.”

Many people are hopeful that she will not have to go through a long-term suspension before returning to court.

Russia has included Maria Sharapova on its preliminary team for the Olympic tennis tournament in August despite her provisional suspension for failing a drug test,” reports ESPN. “Federation president Shamil Tarpishchev tells the Tass news agency that Sharapova was on a preliminary squad list, ‘but if she isn’t able to compete, then the next-highest player on the ranking list will go into the team.’ ”

Wimbledon representatives have also expressed desire for her to come play on the English lawns, knowing that her star power draws crowds to matches.

It would be a great shame if Maria was not here,” said Wimbledon chairman Philip Brook, according to Express UK. “She is a former champion at Wimbledon, and very popular with the crowds. In terms of what happened we need to let due process take its course and an outcome be determined and see what happens after that.”
