Khloé Kardashian And Lamar Odom Divorce — The Heartbreaking Reason She Finally Decided It Was Over For Good
Khloé Kardashian is ready to pull the plug on her marriage to Lamar Odom. Although Kardashian postponed the divorce after Odom’s close brush with death, the reality star wants to re-file so that she can start having kids.
According to TMZ, Kardashian has not felt anything romantic with Odom since the first time she filed for divorce back in 2013. She would have gone through with the split, but Odom’s drawn out recovery delayed the process.
While Odom recovered after his near-fatal overdose last fall, Kardashian promised him that she would hold off on the divorce until he was better.
“Khloé thinks this was the right thing to do right now,” an inside source told E! Online last year.
Kardashian admitted the same during a radio interview with KIIS FM.
“I just thought it was really insensitive to [expedite the divorce],” she shared. “I get it, I get why it’s confusing, and I understand all of that. James Harden has been great. (She has since split with him as well.) He’s been very supportive with everything. There’s of course times where I’m sure he was really uncomfortable about some of the things, but I’m a very honest person and I have nothing to hide and I was very open with how I feel like I had to handle everything with Lamar.”
Now that Odom can function by himself, Kardashian is ready to cut ties for good with Lamar.
Kardashian has already informed friends and family of her plans and wants to proceed with the divorce as soon as possible. After all, Kardashian’s window to have children is quickly closing. In fact, according to Hollywood Life, the reality star is well aware that her “clock is ticking.”
Starting a family is the main reason why Kardashian wants to go through with the divorce. She can’t have kids until she finds another man, and in order to accomplish that goal, Kardashian’s first step is to become a single woman once again.
Furthermore, Odom’s rumored relapse with alcohol may have also played a part in Kardashian’s decision to divorce. Whatever the truth of the matter, Kardashian is definitely looking forward to a new chapter in her life.
This is not the first time Kardashian has expressed a desire to have kids. During her marriage with Odom, the couple attempted to have children on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, their attempts never produced a baby.
Despite their shortcomings, Kardashian did reveal that she and Odom considered alternative methods of having children. In an episode of Kocktails with Khloé, the reality star admitted that she almost adopted a child after she failed to get pregnant.
Meanwhile, despite the divorce news, Kardashian appeared in high spirits during Scott Disick’s 33rd birthday bash over the weekend.
According to pictures released by Daily Mail, Kardashian wore a glamorous fur coat and white jeans for the event and was nothing but smiles.
The family went out to Nobu restaurant to celebrate Disick’s birthday. The dinner was topped off with a white cake. Kardashian was joined by her sister, Kim Kardashian West, who also appeared more than happy.
