Katie Holmes: Star’s Dramatic Transformation Makes Her Unrecognizable As She Portrays Jackie Kennedy

Katie Holmes wowed viewers as Jackie Kennedy on the set of The Kennedys: After Camelot, because the 37-year-old star looked unrecognizable as she portrayed the former First Lady. As reported by Entertainment Tonight, the actress was spotted in Canada on Wednesday looking like Jackie Kennedy’s doppelgänger. Holmes is reprising her role as the style icon in the new miniseries, which she also serves as executive producer on the project.

According to InStyle, Katie Holmes first played President John F. Kennedy’s wife Jackie Kennedy in the TV miniseries The Kennedys back in 2011, and now she’s back to tell a new story: what happened after the president’s assassination. With the usual Hollywood glamour, the series was officially presented on Wednesday at an event which was attended by — among others — Holmes and Greg Kinnear, who interpret the marriage of John and Jackie Kennedy.

Once again, the Hollywood star showed her extraordinary versatility at the shooting of the miniseries, and with appropriate hairstyle and an elegant cream-colored coat, she was barely recognizable from the original. As Huffington Post wrote, Holmes perfectly channeled Kennedy as she sported a double-breasted white trench with an elegant belt and sheer nude nylons, a recreation of an ensemble the real Jackie Kennedy wore back in 1967.

Holmes serves as executive producer on the project, which costars Matthew Perry and Ari Cohen, eTalk reports.

As previously mentioned, Holmes first starred as the iconic First Lady in the 2011 miniseries The Kennedys. The show featured Greg Kinnear as John F. Kennedy, Barry Pepper as Bobby Kennedy, and Tom Wilkinson as Joe Kennedy, Sr.

Ted Kennedy will be played by Matthew Perry in the highly anticipated miniseries. According to Boston.com, The Kennedys: After Camelot focuses on Ted Kennedy after the assassinations of his brothers JFK and Bobby, including his handling of his public image and private life while managing the Kennedys’ political devotions.

Jacquelyn Kennedy Onassis was regarded as a style icon in the ’50s and ’60s, and her fashion choices became subject to intense media attention. She was often admired for her personal style and was frequently featured in women’s magazines alongside film stars. Kennedy has received the honor of being named as one of the 12 best-dressed women of the world.

Meanwhile, as Katie Holmes portrays the former First Lady in the new TV miniseries, the ex-wife of Tom Cruise is rumored to be dating actor Jamie Foxx. However, neither party has confirmed these rumors. Several media sources suggest that the couple met in the summer of 2013 during a charity event held in the Hamptons, in which they shared a seductive dance under the watchful gaze of hostess Ellen DeGeneres. It is also said that the actor refers to Holmes as “his girlfriend” among people in their immediate circle. However, representatives of the two have categorically denied a budding romance between the stars.

Earlier this year, when asked about her dating life, Holmes gave the following statement to More magazine.

“That’s not something I want to answer,” Holmes was quoted as saying. “[I don’t] have a five or 10-year plan. I feel like I’m still a teenager in a lot of ways. I do a lot of things I did then. I paint, I color. I cook sometimes. I still feel like a girl. I don’t quite feel like a woman, maybe because I’m the baby of my family. I’ll probably be 90 and feel like, ‘Not a woman yet!’ Ha!”

Holmes has mostly kept her dating life private since she split from Tom Cruise back in 2012.
