Sunrisers Hyderabad Vs. Kolkata Knight Riders Live Stream: IPL T20 Cricket Playoff Elimination Game

The Indian Premier League 2016 T20 cricket playoffs continue Wednesday as Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Kolkata Knight Riders in a game that will stream live, the second match between the two clubs in four days. But this time, the loser goes home, and the winner moves on to the second elimination match to face Gujarat Lions on Friday.

Led by Captain David Warner, the Australia national team opening batsman and vice-captain, and 20-year-old Bangladesh bowling sensation Mustafizur “Fizz” Rahman, Sunrisers put together an 8-6 group stage IPL season that had them on the top of the table heading into the final week of the season.

But losses to Delhi Daredevils last week and then to Knight Riders on the final day of the competition Sunday dropped Sunrisers down to third, forcing them into Wednesday’s eliminator and requiring them to win three games rather than two if they want to claim their first IPL championship.

Now, despite finishing a place ahead of Kolkata, albeit on net run rate as both teams won eight games, Sunrisers go into the first 2016 IPL eliminator as the underdog. Not only are Gautam Gambhir and his Knight Riders two time winners of the IPL title, the spin-friendly surface in Raipur favors Kolkata and West Indies spinner Sunil Narine, who took three wickets for 26 in Sunday’s win over Hyderabad.

Kolkata defeated Sunrisers in both of their meetings this year, and will look to make it a clean sweep of three on Wednesday, with a win that would move Kolkata two wins away from a third IPL championship.

First ball is scheduled for 8 p.m. India Standard Time at Feroz Shah Kotla Cricket Ground in Raipur, Delhi, India, on Wednesday, May 25.

In the first playoff game, a qualifying match between first-place Gujarat Lions and second-place Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli’s team appeared to be collapsing, down six for just 68 in a chase of 159, when South Africa superstar A.B. de Villiers reeled off a stand of 79 not out to rescue Royal Challengers and send the Bangalore franchise directly into the Championship Final.

Kohli had gone out for his first duck in 51 IPL innings, bowled by Dhawal Kulkarni — who also knocked over the stumps of West Indies slugger Chris Gayle who managed only nine off 12 deliveries.

Kulkarni took four wickets in total for just 14 and Ravi Jadeja claimed another two for 21, but it wasn’t enough in the face of the de Villiers’ onslaught.

Gujarat gets a second chance when they face the winner of Wednesday’s Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday, in Delhi.
