Yolanda Hadid was the one who filed for divorce from David Foster last year after she had wrapped up The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Many speculated that David was indeed the one who had filed for the divorce, as he felt incapable of handling her Lyme disease. But Hadid claims they grew apart over the years thanks to the illness, and she wanted a divorce because she didn’t want to drag him down. But apparently, Yolanda did want spousal support. In the original divorce documents, she had asked for spousal support and legal fees from Foster.
According to a new People report, Yolanda Hadid is now learning that her ex-husband doesn’t want to pay her anything. In court documents, Foster is asking to terminate the ability of the court to award spousal support to Yolanda. The documents downright reveals that he doesn’t want to be responsible for paying the support to Hadid.
Many speculated that he had been paying for her Lyme disease treatments around the world, including various stem cell treatments and holistic treatments. Many reports speculated that Yolanda Hadid was using David’s money to do all kinds of health things and he was getting fed up with the millions of dollars he was spending. Maybe he’s concerned that Yolanda will just continue to try out various treatments on his dime.
It doesn’t sound like Hadid has a lot of money herself. Hadid and Foster separated in December, and she filed for divorce in January. Yolanda moved into an apartment in December to start over, but Foster helped her get the funds for that apartment. When she finally did speak out about the divorce, Yolanda Hadid revealed that her battle with Lyme disease had “changed the dynamic of the relationship.”
David and Yolanda shocked the world when they announced their separation back in December, just before the new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was to start airing. People were surprised because they never saw any signs that their marriage was in trouble. And Hadid’s co-stars were also surprised as Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards never suspected that there was trouble in paradise.
“Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways,” the couple revealed to People magazine in December, adding, “We’ve shared nine beautiful and joyous years together. During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues.”
Maybe David doesn’t want to pay Hadid any spousal support because of her children. Gig Hadid, 20, is currently one of the biggest supermodels in the world. And her siblings, Bella, 19, and Anwar, 16, are close behind. Worst case, Gigi surely has the money to take care of her sick mother. Plus, Foster did get Hadid her apartment before the split, so they did leave things amicably. However, it is interesting that Yolanda Hadid asked for spousal support and he shut her down in court. It will be interesting to see what the judge decides, as her illness could possibly weigh in on the decision. But it doesn’t sound like Hadid is too worried, as she is still very active on social media.
“This is your Sunday evening reminder that you can handle whatever this week throws at you!” read a quote that she posted over the weekend, adding her personal message, “Good night my friends.”
What do you think about David Foster not paying Yolanda Hadid spousal support? Do you think he should help her out given she’s sick, or do you think he knows that she can take care of herself financially given her upcoming book about Lyme disease and her role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?
