Dallas Cowboys: 5 Bold Predictions For The 2016 NFL Season

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a disappointing 2015 NFL season that consisted of constant injury issues. Tony Romo went down with a broken collarbone on two separate occasions, while Dez Bryant missed the majority of the season with a foot injury. It was disappointing, to say the very least, but they are hoping to come out in 2016 with a bang.

Looking at the NFC, there are reasons to believe that they can bounce back with a big season this year.

Jason Garrett and Jerry Jones were able to snag Ezekiel Elliott in the 2016 NFL Draft. It was a huge step in the right direction to get their offense back on track. Jaylon Smith was the second-round pick of the Cowboys and has superstar potential in the future if he can come back from the gruesome knee injury he suffered last year with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Dallas will have to compete within a tough NFC East division. The Washington Redskins are going to be a very good team this season, while both the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants have potential. Both the Eagles and Giants have major flaws as well, which will help the Cowboys have success within their own division.

All of that being said, what five bold predictions can be made for the Dallas Cowboys heading into 2016?

Tony Romo Stays Healthy All Season and Returns with a Huge Year

Obviously, after seeing the way that the team struggled last season without Romo, he is the main player who must step up. Romo will return with a completely healthy season and will put up huge numbers. Dallas will still rely heavily on their passing game, but the ground game will improve a lot which will help Romo out immensely.

Ezekiel Elliott Will Win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award

Ezekiel Elliott was considered to be the best player in the entire 2016 draft class by some. There is no question that he possesses the necessary skills to become a superstar in the NFL. He will come out and play like a superstar and will end up winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

Dez Bryant Will Rack Up at Least 1,300 Yards, 15 Touchdowns

After missing most of last season, Dez Bryant will come back looking to prove all of his critics wrong. He will rack up at least 1,300 receiving yards and will catch 15 touchdowns as well. Bryant is one of the league’s most dominant receivers and will prove worthy of the large extension that he received.

Dallas Cowboys Will Win the NFC East Division with at Least 12 Wins

Jerry Jones is expecting his team to win the NFC East division, and that is exactly what they will do. They have put together the necessary pieces to win at least 12 games this season. It won’t be easy, to say the least, but the Cowboys are due for a big season and will play with anger from last season.

The Dallas Cowboys Will Win Super Bowl 51

It will be interesting to see where the Cowboys go this coming season. They have a lot of talent to go through in the NFC to get to the Super Bowl, but they will compete. Dallas will end up winning Super Bowl 51 and will restore the pride that the franchise has held onto over the years.

Expect to see the Cowboys compete throughout the 2016 season with the burning fire of embarrassment from last year hanging over them. Romo will be back at 100 percent, and the offense should be lethal. There is no telling what can be expected from the defense, but they should be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC.
