3 Reasons ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ May Be More Explosive Than July 4th [Quicksilver Spoiler Scene Included]

X-Men: Apocalypse is easily one of the more-anticipated movies of the Summer 2016. And, from several previews and rumors, X-Men‘s sequel is set to be quite the explosive Marvel film.

Sure, July 4 is right around the corner, and you know fireworks and explosions occur with plenty of flare. However, this week — on May 27, fireworks are coming early with the release of X-Men: Apocalypse. And, it might be bigger and badder than what you would see on Independence Day. Well, unless it’s the sequel to Independence Day, which also has a number of predictions.

Nevertheless, here are three reasons you can expect Apocalypse to be the most explosive X-Men movie to date.

1. All the X-Men characters and actors/actresses you love to love and love to hate.

According to Movie Pilot, Apocalypse will feature an array of X-Men characters, both old and new. Keeping to traditional X-Men comics, as well as earlier-produced movies, you’ll find Professor Xavier in the appearance fans knew prior to the remakes: bald and accompanied by his signature wheelchair. Of course, after continuing as Professor X in multiple movies, the franchise had to bring James McAvoy back to resume his X-Men role in Apocalypse.

You would think Jubilee could make an appearance. However, rumor has it that the only scene in which she appears is the following commercial regarding Charles Xavier’s School for the Gifted.

Yet, you’ll find Raven/Mystique on the right side of justice again. While things did get interesting as she went rogue during the post-split in X-Men: Days of Future Past, it seems that Professor X has her training militant mutants to combat an old-but-new foe, Apocalypse. For the record, Apocalypse is registered as the very first mutant — and for matters of invincibility, a god.

According to Internet Movie Database (IMDb), Apocalypse will have his own team. And, mentioned as those you might love to hate, Magneto is on that team. However, you’ll find that he’s not the only old school character on the team. Yet, as concerns him, the source states as follows.

“Upon awakening after thousands of years, he [Apocalypse] is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign.”

So, in essence this will be the battle of all battles, right? There’s sure to be a plethora of explosions that will make July 4 look like a few “Roman Candles.”

2. Following a tough act, X-Men: Apocalypse has to “go hard” or “go home.”

As mentioned via Movie Pilot, X-Men: Apocalypse isn’t just releasing during a time of regular movies. Although its competition is still within the Marvel franchise, these movies have done exceedingly well. And with each Marvel movie release, the expectation bar is raised a little more. According to reviews and box office results, Captain America: Civil War blew fans’ minds — not to mention Deadpool.

X-Men: Apocalypse has to follow those acts. Yet, while keeping Marvel’s reputation in tact, this movie can’t come with any less thrill than Civil War. Granted, more is better. However, any less, and it’ll be subjected to ridicule.

There are possibly DC Comics fans ready with discrediting memes on standby right now, just in case it flops. So, with those potential issues in mind, this X-Men movie has to be the greatest yet. It’s releasing in an era where the superhero hype has resurfaced among movie-goers.

3. Meet the Four Horsemen

Apocalypse’s band of mutants is set to offer devastating blows to the rest of the “X-Men” on staff. Yet, as in religion’s “end of days” story, the reputations exist likewise as War, Death, Famine and Pestilence. Along with the “god” of the movie, the other Horsemen are: Magneto, Archangel, Psylocke, and — believe it or not — Storm.

As Screen Rant reports, likewise mentioned above, Magneto just couldn’t resist the possibility of achieving immortality. So, you know he’s about to try his hardest, especially after he nearly succeeded in takeover via Days of Future Past.

All in all, what do you think about X-Men: Apocalypse? Do you think it will live up to the expectation and high-raised bar? Feel free to enjoy the Quicksilver spoiler scene below.
