Frank Underwood Blasts Donald Trump, Via Kevin Spacey [Video]

Frank Underwood took the stage at the Cannes Film Festival, in lieu of his real counterpart, Kevin Spacey, to make a few jokes about Donald Trump and his circus themed sideshow that was called the GOP primaries.

For what it’s worth, it was Kevin Spacey on the stage. But for those who are avid fans of House of Cards, they would be able to tell which character was on stage, which was Frank Underwood, according to Extra TV.

For those who were in attendance at the Cannes Film Festival, then you got a special treat to be able to meet the character in person. But poor Donald Trump, who can be seen by some as a real life version of Frank Underwood, did not have anything to laugh about once Spacey got into Underwood’s character.

The truth is, Underwood and Trump are so much alike that it is incomprehensible at times to believe that Donald Trump is a real live person. But he is and he’s running on the GOP ticket as their nominee in the 2016 general election for president of the United States.

Needless to say, though, Frank Underwood is a ruthless person who will stop at nothing to seize and hold on to power. That is what House of Cards is really all about, ever since it premiered on Netflix over four years ago. As a matter of fact, Underwood is the kind of ruthless politician who will let nothing, or no one, get in his way.

In the current season of House of Cards, Frank Underwood has just mended his ways with his wife and they are once again united for a common cause, which is to seek and destroy. The Underwoods are currently in the process of running for president in the fictional world, which is also set in 2016. But they are a unique brand, and Frank Underwood’s wife is running on the ticket as his vice president.

But in that cliffhanger finale episode for House of Cards Season 4, Frank Underwood, along with his wife Claire, are fighting for their political lives following a news report that uncovers what appears to be a conspiracy involving the presidential succession and the possibility of uncovering Frank Underwood’s murders.

But just when they thought that all hope was lost, there was one thing that they could do to hold on to power. It was something that was seen back in 2004 when George W. Bush got re-elected to a second term in office, which was war.

In the end, Frank Underwood was willing to do whatever it took to hold on to power, and what he did was took the country to war. That has always been something American voters saw as an issue that a sitting president should at least finish before he leaves office and it generally sways the vote in his favor.

When Kevin Spacey took the stage at Cannes, he did so as Frank Underwood and even mentioned that Sharon Stone was unable to attend the event because she was fighting a “disease” — which was Donald Trump.

But Underwood (Spacey) also talked about Donald Trump as if he had some sort of influence in the foreign film market, which was not a good thing.

“Foreign films contain two things Donald Trump hates the most: foreigners and reading,” Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) said.

But Frank was not the only Underwood who made headlines this week. Robin Wright, who plays Claire Underwood on House of Cards, also got a few headlines of her own when she opened up about her demands to be paid the same as her co-star, Kevin Spacey. But the best news that came from that is when she announced that her demands were met.
