‘The Bachelor’s’ Ben Higgins And Lauren Bushnell Will Get Married ‘Very Soon’ — But Will It Be Live On TV?

Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell’s wedding is going to happen a lot sooner than many fans expected.

The stars of The Bachelor Season 20 are currently planning for a summer ceremony, which might make its way to ABC.

An inside source told Us Magazine that Higgins and Bushnell “will get married very soon, probably this summer. It would be an ABC special.”

Higgins proposed to Bushnell during The Bachelor finale. Despite battling through rumors of a coming split, the pair are happier than ever with their relationship. “They’re making it work a lot better than past people have done in their shoes,” the insider added.

With a wedding on the way, the biggest question remaining is whether or not the ceremony will be televised. Apparently, Higgins and Bushnell are completely open to sharing their wedding with all of their fans.

“We want to share our life with everyone who’s been supportive,” Bushnell told the outlet last month. “And that includes Bachelor Nation.”

If Higgins and Bushnell televise their wedding, then it will mark the fifth live wedding for the network. Back in 2003, Trista and Ryan Sutter exchanged vows, followed by Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney in 2010, Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum in 2012, and Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici in 2014.

While they may have plans to film the wedding in front of a live audience, Higgins and Bushnell still have plenty of details to work out.

“We haven’t discussed places, let alone like a date,” Bushnell admitted. “But my parents are in Portland. I was born and raised there. I don’t think that Ben or myself would rule anything out of this point and Portland has some of the best summers.”

Considering everything that happened between Higgins and Bushnell on the show, their short engagement is somewhat surprising. After all, the couple had a bit of a rocky start to their relationship.

As previously reported by Inquisitr, Higgins told Bushnell and his runner-up on the show, JoJo Fletcher, that he loved them. Higgins gave his final rose to Bushnell, but his love for Fletcher was an early obstacle Bushnell had to overcome.

Despite the rough start, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell have appeared more than happy together in public. In fact, Bushnell recently posted a message on Instagram about how much she missed Higgins, who remained in Denver while she celebrated Mother’s Day.

“I’m not one get all sentimental but Ben flew home yesterday while I stayed with my family to celebrate Mothers Day and it was the first day we’ve spent apart in a few weeks,” Bushnell shared. “The second he left I felt a piece of me missing. I can’t wait to get home today to the most amazing person I’ve ever met. I’m so thankful for you, Ben.”

Although the details of their wedding are unknown, Higgins hinted at what the ceremony might look like in an interview with People.

“I want a huge reception. How often in life do all your friend and family gather in one room to celebrate something? Why get married tomorrow if we can plan a big a** party?” he stated.

At the same time, Higgins also told ABC News that fans can expect a few familiar faces at the coming nuptials.

“I know from our season, she has some great friends from the show and I have some great friends from the season with Kaitlyn,” Higgins told the outlet. “Some of the past contestants have been big role models in my life like Sean Lowe and Chris Soules. Chris and Des, we’d definitely love to invite them.”

An official wedding date has not been set, though fans can expect something more definitive in the near future.
