‘Baywatch’ Actor David Hasselhoff Claims He’s Broke

David Hasselhoff is a famous actor who rose to prominence in the 80s with Knight Rider and in the 90s with Baywatch. David has also starred in numerous TV shows and movies. Additionally, he also embarked on a music career in Germany. Almost everyone should be able to recognize him if they happen to meet him on the street.

Unbeknownst to many, David Hasselhoff is broke. Or at least that’s what he claims.

As reported in TMZ, David claims that he has less than $4,000 in cash to his name.

The reason for his financial difficulties is reportedly due to the ongoing “spousal support war” David is locked in with his former wife, Pamela Bach.

According to the stipulation agreed to in the alimony terms, Pamela is getting $252,000 a year. David reportedly wants it lowered on account of the fact that he is now “a shadow of his former financial self.”

Hasselhoff claims that he doesn’t earn as much as before as his European tour was cut short due to low ticket sales. David also doesn’t believe that his reality show, Hoff the Record, isn’t going to be successful.

David says that he continues to fight for relevance at this point in his career and is not being successful at it. He reveals that while he is earning $112,000 a month, he has to spend $66,000 to pay for Pam’s alimony, which includes taxes and living expenses. According to David, he saves almost nothing once alimony is paid.

Hasselhoff’s assets, as declared in court documents obtained by TMZ, amount to $1.79 million in “real estate, retirement savings, cars, jewelry, art and other odds and ends, but cash is running perilously short.”

Pamela, however, says otherwise, claiming that David is worth more than $120 million and that he continues to earn from numerous projects. She also claims that David owns properties all over the world.

The former couple will meet again for another court hearing at the end of the month.

Since David broke up with Pamela in 2006, he has found new love with Welsh beauty Hayley Roberts. The pair just got engaged earlier this month.

Hasselhoff went through two divorces before his engagement with Hayley. While he admitted that he was concerned about the age gap between himself and Roberts, David said that it doesn’t really matter in the end.

“I had a saying, ‘You don’t get married because you want to live with someone, you get married because you can’t live without them,'” he told Hello! magazine. “I felt that way. I knew that I was really unhappy without her. I waited to propose because I thought I was too old for her. I’ve asked her to marry me before, but those times were for fun. This time, it was special and from my heart.”

“We were both in tears,” Roberts added. “I genuinely had no idea he was going to do that. I’m still overwhelmed…. I cried so hard that he didn’t get around to actually asking, ‘Will you marry me?’ until about 10 minutes later.”

Even if David is financially broke (or so he claims), he’s got a big project in the works that should ease him out of his financial burdens. As announced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson via his Instagram account in early March, David is set to play a role in the feature film adaptation of Baywatch. Paramount Pictures scheduled Baywatch’s cinematic release on May 19, 2017.

On Tuesday, David took to Twitter to thank his fans for their support and to announce the second season premiere of Hoff the Record. He concluded the tweet with the words, “BEST WEEK EVER!”
