Cameron Diaz surprised many people when she got married to Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden last year. The two dated for seven months and got engaged a month before their wedding. According to E! News, the nuptials only lasted for 15 minutes.
The newlyweds and their guests, which included the groom’s twin brother, Joel Madden, and his wife, Nicole Richie, partied at the actress’ Beverly Hills home after the wedding. During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the Sex Tape star confessed that getting married to the 37-year-old musician was the biggest thing she’s done in her 40s.
“I didn’t think it was something I’d do, and I don’t know if I’d have done it if I hadn’t met my husband. It was a surprise,” she said.
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have been married for over a year now, and fans of the lovely couple couldn’t wait to see them have babies soon. However, the 43-year-old actress may find it difficult to get pregnant because of her age. The Annie star is aware of the changes that her body will face as she gets older, which is why she is taking good care of herself.
“I’m in this time now in my life where I have to be thoughtful. If I slack off, things don’t come back so easily. I have to be committed,” she said. “But just like everybody else, I’m more and less disciplined at various times based on what’s going on in my life.
The California-born actress also revealed that her mantra is “Do the best you can.” With all her efforts in remaining healthy, she may finally get her wish come true, which is to get pregnant. Last March, Diaz was spotted shopping in Los Angeles with Madden, and she looked like she was hiding her baby bump.
The blonde beauty was wearing a loose shirt paired with baggy pants. Radar Online shared photos of the couple, who looked happy and comfortable in their casual outfit. The website previously reported that Cameron has been trying hard to get pregnant with Benji ever since they got married in January 2015. However, she ended up feeling heartbroken because it just wouldn’t work out.
“She’s devastated that it hasn’t happened yet!” their source said.
If the baby bump sighting is true, then Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden will be one of the happiest couples in the world. Unfortunately, they haven’t confirmed nor denied the pregnancy rumors. During an interview with Women’s Health, the star of the 90s comedy Something About Mary gave advice to women who wanted to get pregnant.
“After 35, most women’s eggs start to dwindle,” she explained. “There’s no way of knowing until you test yourself. That might be something you want to do in your early thirties if your fertility is important to you.”
Since Cam’s already in her 40s, she is aware that she will be facing menopause soon and she is ready for that transition. She also shared some advice on how women can cope up with this difficult phase in their life.
“Make connections, make friends, join communities, and really honor yourself. You’re getting ready to make that transition to menopause, so pay attention to where you’re at emotionally, physically, and mentally,” Diaz said. “The women who stress have it longer and harder, but the ones who accept it have it shorter and less severe.”
Could this mean that she has given up on getting pregnant? There are some celebrities who were lucky to get pregnant in their 40s, including Gwen Stefani, who was 44 when she gave birth to her youngest son Apollo, Halle Berry, who was 47 when she welcomed her second child Maceo, and Kelly Preston, who was 48 when she delivered Benjamin.
Since Cameron Diaz has been taking good care of her health, then there could be a chance that she’ll finally get pregnant and eventually give birth to her first baby with husband Benji Madden.
