Ellen DeGeneres Set To Return For ‘Finding Nemo 2’

Ellen DeGeneres, who is still generating solid ratings for her daytime talk show, is in talks to reprise her role as Dory in Pixar’s Finding Nemo 2, according to Cinema Blend. Considering so many people responded positively to DeGeneres role in the first feature, it make sense that the studio is interested in getting her back for the long-awaited sequel.

The Hollywood Reporter states that DeGeneres has been interested in participating in Finding Nemo 2, so getting the dancing talk show host to sign on the dotted line might not be much of a problem. Still, this is Hollywood, and anything and everything can go hideously wrong at a moment’s notice. For now, I’d say it’s a safe assumption that she will provide the voice for Dory once again.

However, very little is known about the project right now including how big of a role DeGeneres will play in the upcoming sequel. Is she slated to play the sidekick once again, or will the entire story follow the antics of the little blue fish? Right now, the direction the film will take is ripe for endless internet speculation.

Finding Nemo director Andrew Stanton is slated to helm the project for Disney. This production will mark Stanton’s first feature since the box office disaster John Carter, a film that honestly didn’t get a fair shake during its theatrical run earlier this year. Stanton also directed the Pixar flick Wall-E in 2008.

A quick look at the Finding Nemo 2IMDb page lists several actors that are rumored to be attached to the project. In addition to star Albert Brooks, Dexter veteran Preston Bailey is on-deck to portray Nemo this time around. Interestingly, the website has Malcolm in the Middle co-star Jane Kaczmarek is listed as the rumored voice of Dory.
