Pretty Little Liars Season 7 premieres this summer, but there hasn’t been much information leaked or spoilers. Finally, Freeform uploaded the official trailer for PLL, which has been given the hashtag #SaveHanna. (Warning, there are Season 6 and 7 spoilers below.)
The Season 6 finale of Pretty Little Liars left fans with a few shockers. Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson) ended up disappearing in what Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn) thought was a secure room. Also, Alison DiLaurentis’ (Sasha Pieterse) new husband was working with Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) to drive her insane. There are other PLL mysteries, too. However, Hanna vanishing and Alison’s mental state seem to be the two biggest storylines. So, what does the Season 7 trailer reveal?
E! News reports that the beginning of the PLL Season 7 trailer shows the Liars digging up dirt with a shovel. Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) asks how they could let it happen, while Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) focuses on the task at hand. However, Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) is emotional. With tears and a shaky voice, Emily isn’t sure she can live with herself. Spencer replies that there isn’t another way.
Is Hanna buried underneath the dirt or are they digging for clues? Perhaps, it is even worse. Maybe the Liars killed someone out of desperation and are burying the body?
Next, the PLL Season 7 trailer offers fans quick flashes of several scenes. They go by far too quickly to get any real answers, but it is going to be a season full of suspense. Spencer is warned about locking her doors, Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding) and Aria hide underneath a window, and a young woman says it was a well-thought plan. Also, the church where Charlotte DiLaurentis (Vanessa Ray) died makes an appearance. Inside, a body hangs from thick rope. The identity is not revealed, but it is female and she has blonde hair. It couldn’t be Hanna, could it? Or is it a lookalike meant to trick the Liars?
Finally, with tears streaming down her face, Spencer says, “It’s called murder.” Immediately after, she slams her shovel down and a loud thump is heard. Who has been murdered and who is the killer? Is Hanna dead on Pretty Little Liars? Or has Freeform used clever editing to make it seem that way?
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Alison’s mental state is going to be addressed in Season 7 of PLL. Also, Jenna Marshall (Tammin Sursok) returns. Andrea Parker, who plays Mary Drake, has been promoted to series regular. In an interview, it was stated that the upcoming season will not move slowly, especially when it comes to Alison and Mary.
“That’s all part of the story moving forward. When we come back this summer, you’re going to find out a lot of answers,” Marlene King teased to Variety, regarding Alison finding out her mother had a twin. “Season 7 is really the fastest-moving season we’ve ever had. It moves even quicker than Seasons 1 and 2, and you’re going to get answers almost on an episode-by-episode basis. So you’re going to get that answer really soon.”
PLL Season 7 spoilers also reveal that how Elliot Rollins (Huw Collins) and Mary Drake are connected is part of the mystery. Also, it turns out that Elliot and Charlotte do have a romantic history. Fans have speculated as much, so that shouldn’t come as a surprise to most viewers. However, the PLL showrunner wouldn’t say if Elliot is his real name or not.
What do you think will happen in Season 7 of PLL? Will the characters be able to #SaveHanna or is she dead? What will be the future for Alison DiLaurentis, Aria Montgomery, Spencer Hastings, and Emily Fields in the upcoming season? Find out on June 21, when Freeform premieres Pretty Little Liars Season 7.
