Miranda Lambert Reacts To Blake Shelton’s New Track, ‘I Bet You Still Think About Me’

Miranda Lambert is making it clear that she’s not missing ex-husband Blake Shelton.

Following Blake’s announcement that there’s a track on his new album titled “I Bet You Still Think About Me,” which fans are speculating is about Shelton’s 2015 split with Miranda, the country star is hitting back.

According to a source who spoke out to E! News this week, Lambert allegedly isn’t losing too much sleep over Blake Shelton’s new song, which is featured on his new release, If I’m Honest, as she knows the country star well enough to know that his new album will feature songs about their divorce.

“Miranda is aware of what country artists do when creating new music,” a source admitted to E! News ahead of the release of Blake’s upcoming ninth studio album. “She is not upset at the lyrics because she knows it’s just how it goes, especially as a country artist.”

Blake Shelton spoke out about his new track for the first time to the site earlier this week, where Shelton admitted that “I Bet You Still Think About Me’s” lyrical content is exactly what fans think the song will be about.

“It’s basically what it sounds like. At some point whether you go through a divorce or a breakup or whatever, once you get past the anger and the frustration of it all,” Blake said, “you kind of go into the sad part of it where it’s just like, ‘Gosh, how come that didn’t work out?'”

“That’s what this song is about,” Shelton continued during an appearance at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles, describing the track as a “sad song.”

“Even though stuff didn’t work out, I bet you miss me a little bit,” Blake Shelton added.

E! News’ source also revealed that Miranda is currently working on a new album of her own — her first since splitting with Blake last year — that could well detail her side of their shocking divorce.

“She is always thinking and currently working on new lyrics and song ideas and many of those ideas steam from the past, present, and future experiences,” E! News’ Miranda insider confessed of Lambert’s upcoming new music.

Blake Shelton’s big confession about his Miranda Lambert-inspired song follows Shelton’s recent claims that his new album will feature tracks that will shine some light on his split from Miranda as well as spilling secrets about his new romance with Gwen Stefani.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in March, Blake confessed that he put his life experiences into songs for his ninth studio album and revealed that his past and present romances with Miranda and Gwen are both “on the record.”

“It doesn’t take, you know, a rocket scientist. If you have followed my career even a little bit in my life, you know what has happened with me in the last, gosh, eight or nine months,” Blake revealed to Entertainment Tonight earlier this year.

“I can put my life experience, whether it’s a divorce or my new girlfriend, whatever those experiences are, whatever things that are happening in my life, I have an outlet for them,” Shelton said. “I have music. I can write songs, I can sing about it.”

One of those songs is his new duet with Gwen, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” which Blake and Gwen debuted during a performance on The Voice earlier this week.

“When I originally started writing this song, I was only trying to impress Gwen,” Shelton recently told Entertainment Tonight of the duet. “It was just kind of something for she and I to help us feel better about what we were going through,” Blake confessed.
