Michael Vick Injured, No Broken Ribs This Time

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was injured for a second weekend in a row after taking a hard hit during Monday nights victory over the New England Patriots.

Vick was hit hard in the ribs by linebacker Jermaine Cunningham during the Eagles’ sixth offensive place on their second drive of the pre-season game. Vick was scrambling to avoid pressure up the middle when he turned to throw the ball and was met int he midsection by Cunningham.

The QB was slow to get up and hobbled to the sideline on his own weight.

After leaving the field, Vick underwent a set of X-rays that shows no broken ribs.

Michael Vick will undergo an MRI and CT scan on Tuesday to rule out any severe damage.

Speaking to the Associated Press Eagles coach Andy Reid said of the injury:

“He’s sore. He was trying to talk me into going back in, so how sore is sore?”

Michael Vick is no stranger to chest injuries; last season he missed three games after breaking two ribs in November.

The star QB is no stranger to injury in general as well; during nine NFL season,s he has completed only one 16 game season. As Michael Vick continues to age, it is likely he’ll suffer more injuries and miss more time on the field. It’s one thing to age as a quarterback in the NFL; it is another thing all together to turn into paper mache.

Do you think Michael Vick will eventually be forced to exit the NFL because of mounting injuries?
