Leif Olson wins a BMW with a hole in one at Canadian Open (video)

Leif Olsen stepped to the par three 15th hole at the second round of the Canadian Open with not a lot to show for his five years of playing professional golf, his career prizemoney totaling just $23,049. With a single shot, he more than tripled his career earnings by holing out with an amazingly lucky shot that caromed off another ball and spun backwards into the hole.

Olsen won a BMW Z4 Roadster worth $51,650, which is over twice his career earnings. The #237-ranked player landed the ball several feet behind the 141-yard hole and the backspin from the shot would have probably taken it off the green, but it struck the ball of playing partner and took a sharp deviation towards the hole, going in and sparking wild celebrations back at the tee off, where Olsen was able to sample the Roadster which was parked right next to it.

Olsen has only made three cuts of 14 tournaments this year, and was at one under prior to his eagle, with the cut eventually at three under. Olsen went on to birdie 16 and 17 and make the cut, and has burned up his first nine of the third round, firing five birdies and a bogey to be nine under and tied for 16th behind leader Jason Dufner.
