‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoilers: How Will Death Change Jon Snow?

Game of Thrones viewers are more than happy to have Jon Snow back after Lady Melisandre resurrected him during last week’s episode. However, Jon will be a changed man after returning from the dead.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jon Snow has been to the other side and isn’t impressed with what he found there. Actor Kit Harington recently revealed that his fan-favorite Game of Thrones character now knows there is no after-life after being resurrected.

“At first, I was worried that he’ll wake up and he’s the same, back to normal — then there’s no point in that death. He needs to change. There’s a brilliant line when Melisandre asks: ‘What did you see?’ And he says: ‘Nothing, there was nothing at all.’ That cuts right to our deepest fear, that there’s nothing after death. And that’s the most important line in the whole season for me.”

Kit Harington has confirmed that there will be a huge dose of Jon Snow in the upcoming Game of Thrones Season 6 episodes and that fans will see his character’s biggest storyline yet. However, he’ll be living life with a new sense of purpose, and possibly a shadow hanging over his head, knowing that there is nothing but the life he’s currently leading.

“Jon’s never been afraid of death, and that’s made him a strong and honorable person. He realizes something about his life now: He has to live it, because that’s all there is. He’s been over the line and there’s nothing there. And that changes him. It literally puts the fear of god into him. He’s seen oblivion and that’s got to change somebody in the most fundamental way there is. He doesn’t want to die ever again. But if he does, he doesn’t want to be brought back.”

It looks like Game of Thrones fans will be seeing Jon Snow go through a bit of a crisis as he picks his life back up after crossing over to the other side and then returning.

Jon’s new realization that there is no after-life could lead him to want to live his own life to the fullest, which could mean exploring his parentage for the first time.

As many Game of Thrones viewers know, Jon Snow does not know who his mother is, but he was only told that he was the illegitimate child of Ned Stark, who fathered him while he was married to Catelyn Stark.

However, there is one huge fan theory, which has been named the R+L=J theory, and it reveals that Jon Snow could easily be the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Lyanna, the sister of Ned Stark, may have asked her brother to take care of Jon as his own son, fearing for his life since had Targaryen blood. If this theory is true, fans could be seeing it play out on the show very soon.

Game of Thrones viewers have already seen Brandon Stark have flashback visions of his father, Ned, as a young man as well as his aunt Lyanna. Will Bran be the one to finally find out the truth about Jon Snow’s mother? It seems like the only explanation for the theory.

Another shocking fan theory pegs Tyrion Lannister as a Targaryen as well, and if both are true, then it looks like Daenerys could be getting a couple of new family members in the very near future.
