Pretty Little Liars Season 7 premieres this summer on Freeform, the network formerly known as ABC Family. Tammin Sursok played Jenna Marshall on the hit series, but she has not been seen in quite some time. Get ready for some mystery and action, PLL fans. It was recently announced that Jenna is coming back to Rosewood.
The back half of Pretty Little Liars Season 6 had a time jump of five years. Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell), and Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) moved away from Rosewood. The Liars never wanted to return, but were coaxed into coming back. The only reason they agreed was because their friend, Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse), was desperate.
However, since the Liars returned to Rosewood, there has been nothing but trouble, chaos, mystery and death. Right after Charlotte (Vanessa Ray) was released, Alison found herself alone once again. Her sister was murdered, and the Liars instantly became the prime suspects. It was also interesting to see how much the women had changed since graduating high school.
It looks like things are not going to get any easier for the characters when Pretty Little Liars Season 7 returns. One reason is because someone with questionable morals will be traveling back to town.
According to Bustle, Tammin Sursok announced her return to PLL on social media. The character has not been seen on the Freeform series since Season 5.
So, why is Jenna returning to Rosewood? While some old characters have come back for innocent reasons, the same cannot be said for Jenna. Not only has she always been up to no good, hashtags reveal she is bad news.
The hashtags #JustWait and #BeAfraid were used when the news was announced. Also, a photo of a Pretty Little Liars script was included, complete with Jenna’s black sunglasses.
Besides Jenna returning to Pretty Little Liars, what else is known about the show? As previously reported by the Inquisitr, PLL Season 7 spoilers include hope for “Emison.” This should be exciting for fans who have been rooting for Emily and Alison on Pretty Little Liars.
The most shocking storyline in Season 7 probably has to do with Alison’s new husband, Dr. Elliot Rollins (Huw Collins). He and Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) were exposed to PLL fans as a pair of villains. Mary Drake was the twin sister of Mrs. DiLaurentis, making her Alison’s aunt. This also takes care of the PLL twin theory.
As for how the two are linked, Pretty Little Liars Wikia states that Elliot Rollins is Mary Drake’s nephew-in-law. However, other sources claim it is just a theory.
Even though Rollins and Drake played a cruel game, they are probably not the only villains in Season 7. There is still the question of who was texting the Liars in the first place. Although Charlotte was related to Alison, many viewers speculate another “Big Bad” was targeting Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Spencer. If so, it probably has nothing to do with Charlotte’s death. Yes, that means fans could get wrapped up in a whole new mystery.
Last year, many PLL viewers tried to guess what Emily’s big secret was. It certainly was shocking when it was revealed. Emily foolishly spent all of the money from her deceased father. In an attempt to make things right, she was taking hormone injections and selling her eggs. However, “A” ruined that once Emily returned to Rosewood. That particular storyline is not over, though. TV Line reported that Emily Fields will still be dealing with the missing eggs in Pretty Little Liars Season 7.
As viewers remember from the season finale of Pretty Little Liars, Hanna mysteriously disappeared. It was shocking to see her vanish since she was in a room set up by Caleb to keep her safe. However, “A” is always two steps ahead and likely used a secret entrance. Who else would know about the entrance? The PLL villain has to be familiar with Rosewood and that particular room.
On Instagram, Marlene King posted another clue. This time, it was a picture of the bottom half of “A.” Although the gender is unknown, it does seem to be a man. Wearing black pants with matching shoes, the legs are quite skinny.
Some PLL fans believe “A” could be Spencer or Yvonne. However, others speculate it is Lucas, and that is a good guess. He was just a tad too helpful in the second half of Pretty Little Liars Season 6. Yes, Lucas always had a massive crush on Hanna, but there was something off about his eagerness to help. More off than usual, that is.
What do you think is going to happen when PLL returns? Will Hanna be found safe? Will Alison discover the truth about Dr. Rollins and Mary Drake? Who is “A” and why is Jenna Marshall returning to Rosewood?
Pretty Little Liars Season 7 premieres on June 21.
