Jonathan Jackson Talks ‘Nashville’: Does He See Avery And Juliette Getting Back Together?

Avery Barnes has been dealing with a lot of trouble with his ex Juliette since she returned to Nashville. Juliette has made it pretty obvious that she isn’t quite over him yet, but Avery doesn’t seem quite ready to go there yet. TV Line recently got the chance to talk to Jonathan Jackson, and he shared all of his thoughts on if he thinks these two will work it out or not and more. Jonathan Jackson plays the character of Avery on Nashville.

This week Jonathan Jackson’s character, Avery, will end up stuck between the two women in his life. Jackson explained that their issues are so big that just simply saying “I’m sorry” and hugging it out will not be enough for them to fix their problems, even though Hayden and Jonathan’s characters do share a child on the show.

Jonathan Jackson was willing to talk a bit about Avery and Juliette, but of course, he can’t give away any big spoilers. You can tell Avery isn’t totally over her just yet, but he isn’t ready to take her back either. Here is what Jonathan Jackson revealed about the chance of them getting back together.

“Well, I’m sure [the show’s producers] wouldn’t want me to speak on the rest of the season, but that’s certainly the current dynamic with them. I don’t think he’s ever loved anyone as much as he loved her, so even though they’re not together at the moment, Avery deeply loves her. It’s just one of those things that no matter what happens, when they’re in the room together, they both feel that connection and it’s a really painful thing, but there are a lot of deep trust issues there. So he’s trying to get his life back together and move on, and yet he’s still constantly feeling that tension and that pull towards her.”

Jonathan Jackson went on to explain how he was able to deal with all of these scenes where he has to show his raw emotions. Jackson shared that his time on General Hospital did help of course. He mentioned working with Anthony Geary and Genie Francis and said that they helped lay the foundation for all of that for him. Jonathan Jackson was just 11 when he started on General Hospital.

Jackson did admit that Avery is connecting to Layla, but he wouldn’t give away too many spoilers about what is going on with them. Layla recently lost the love of her life and so did Avery, but in different ways. It is close enough that they can connect with each other over it.

Christian Post shared more spoilers about what is going on this week on Nashville. Maddie has decided that she wants to be emancipated and be able to make her own decisions. She is actually going to go to Teddy, and it sounds like he doesn’t agree with the decision either and will convince her that Cash might not be the best person to have in her life. Teddy is in prison, but he was a father to Maddie for so long that he can help her now. Juliette will also be trying to rekindle her relationship with Avery, which fans can’t wait to see. Jonathan Jackson fans can’t wait to see this part.
