Maisie Williams amazed a group of lucky Game of Thrones fans last night by crashing their viewing party for the highly anticipated premiere of Season 6. Williams, 19, attended a party held at UCLA after tweeting earlier in the day to see if any students were holding a première party but masked the surprise by saying that the party with the best set-up would win Games of Thrones goodies. Entertainment Weekly reports that Maisie Williams then showed up at the party, armed with snacks, much to the amazement of the students. The couple who held the Games of Thrones party, Mark and Kate, are both film students and had a group of friends over to watch the first episode of Season 6. The couple had gone all out for the party, having prepared Game of Thrones-themed snacks, decorations, bets, and plenty more. With all of this taken care of, E! News reports that Maisie Williams stopped off on the way to the party to pick up popcorn and chips. Maisie then met a very surprised Mark outside, and together they came up with a plan to stun his guests.Mark took the snacks from Maisie and then went back to the party to tell his guests that they had won the competition to win Game of Thrones goodies from HBO. Williams then followed closely after, much to the amazement of Mark's guests (Maisie Williams captioned one of her photos that she was "hoping and praying that everyone would recognise me"). After eventually settling down, Maisie stuck around at the party taking photos with her new friends and enjoying all of their Game of Thrones-inspired snacks, which included "Grey Worm's Worms" and "Dragon Egg Cookies," which Williams described as "THA BOMB."The group were watching the end of Season 5 when Maisie Williams arrived at the flat.
"They were catching up on the last episode of season five when I went in, and we all giggled nervously as we took pictures during the famous 'shame' scene."
Maisie then went on to thank her hosts and hoped that they enjoy the rest of the season. She documented the evening over a series of 12 Instagram posts.
"I had the most amazing time, everyone was so welcoming and excited... Thanks to Mark, Kate and company for having us in your lovely flat. Enjoy the rest of Season 6."It seems that Maisie Williams has taken to surprising fans of the immensely popular HBO show, as the young starlet recently pranked fans with another surprise appearance. The Inquisitr reported that Maisie decided to arrange a giveaway of the show's merchandise at a small role-playing game store and then pretended to be an employee called Lorraine. Fans immediately recognized Williams, but she insisted that they had it wrong and that she had never even seen the show.
While Maisie appears to be having plenty of fun with her celebrity and all the hype around Season 6, her character, Arya Stark, isn't quite having so much fun. The highly anticipated premiere revealed her character to still be blind, and we found her begging on the streets before being taunted and attacked by the Waif (Faye Marsay).
In a recent interview with the New York Times, Maisie Williams commented on the difficulties Arya faces in this season.
"You can't comprehend being without your eyes, and you have to put your faith and trust in the people around you, who are also the ones who put you in that position. She has no other choice. So that's a really interesting position to see her in, because she's never had to trust someone. It's a very vulnerable place for her to be at the beginning of the series, but things will turn around."
