Kelly Ripa Predicted That Michael Strahan Would Leave ‘Live’ For ‘GMA’

While it is being reported that Kelly Ripa will absolutely return to Live to co-host with Michael Strahan, there are still many messes to clean up, including hurt feelings and an overall lack of professionalism. Kelly Ripa is claiming that her show is being sacrificed to save GMA, and this is all part of ABC’s plan to move Michael Strahan to GMA. But to Kelly Ripa, one of the worst parts of the whole plan-behind-her-back thing was that she predicted that something like this would happen when Strahan started doing segments on GMA.

According to the Inquisitr, there is no end in sight for the anger and bad feelings that Kelly Ripa is feeling towards ABC and Michael Strahan about his jumping ship and moving full time to GMA. Ripa walked out of Live and went on an impromptu vacation, as she didn’t want to say something she would regret on air to Strahan. Sources are saying that Ripa and Strahan had not spoken off-air in quite a while and that they don’t like each other anymore.

Vanity Fair reported that it has been swirling that Kelly Ripa predicted that Michael Strahan doing segments for GMA would be the beginning of the end for their partnership and perhaps for Live. Ripa had suggested in the media that she had serious concerns about Strahan joining GMA, even as a temporary correspondent.

“Ms. Ripa was worried it would distract him from Live but was reassured it would only be a temporary position.”

When Kelly Ripa was finally told this week what was going on with Michael Strahan, only one day before the general public, she freaked out.

“Didn’t I tell you this was going to happen? I told you two years ago this was going to happen.”

And it seems that Ripa was right. Kelly Ripa is convinced that ABC is more concerned with saving GMA than with whatever happens to her show. And just as Kelly Ripa felt that Michael Strahan left her blindsided and twisting in the wind, she did the same back to him by suddenly leaving town and forcing him to awkwardly explain to their fans why he was alone without Kelly Ripa.

But a source suggests that Ripa has no right to be angry with Strahan for not telling her because it wasn’t his news to tell.

“It wasn’t up to him to deliver any news. He’s not the boss of the network. He was trying to do the right thing and be there as a support.”

The New York Times is suggesting that the ill will between Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan is not the only issue over at ABC. It is being reported that what ABC saw as a boost to the network (the addition of Strahan to GMA) is now turning into a huge headache for everyone.

Although GMA is still the top morning show, there has been a drop in the 25- to 54-year-old bracket, and ABC is hoping that Michael Strahan can help fill the gap. While promising Kelly Ripa that Michael Strahan on GMA was only a temporary assignment, ABC was trying to work out a deal with Strahan to move him to GMA full time. Kelly Ripa had planned to be off today, and Shay Mitchell will be Michael Strahan’s co-host.

E! Online is confirming that Kelly Ripa will return to Live With Kelly and Michael on Tuesday to once again host with Strahan. The crew of Live was concerned for their jobs and was relieved when they received an email from Ripa saying that she would return to the set on Tuesday.

“(Sorry for this late Friday night email). I wanted to thank you all for giving me the time to process this new information. Your kindness, support, and love has overwhelmed me. We are a family and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning. Love, Kelly.”

Do you think that Kelly Ripa has a right to be mad at Michael Strahan and ABC?
