WWE News: NJPW Still Wants To Sign Former WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan Once He Gets Out Of WWE Contract

We all know by now that former WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan had to retire this year after finding out various things regarding his brain and that concussions over periods of his career have now caused his life to change. He was having seizures dating back for a while and even asked his wife Brie Bella to keep one she saw him go through under wraps so that WWE wouldn’t find out. It had to be difficult on her to see him go through, but the fact he wanted to get back in the ring knowing of this problem is by no means a good thing.

He fought for a while, but Bryan eventually realized that it was time to walk away from the ring. One more bad shot to the head and Bryan may not live a happy rest of his life. Only in his 30s, Bryan has an entire life to still live, so is it worth getting back in the ring? In some ways, he still couldn’t let it go and even had plans to get out of his WWE contract and sign with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, which would also allow him to work with Ring of Honor and Mexican partner CMLL.

The deal would have been huge for Bryan, but WWE was not willing to cut him. Then, of course, he went through a highly technological brain check that pretty much told him he was done. This ultimately led to his retirement from the squared circle. It was reported a while back that Daniel Bryan was still trying to get out of his WWE deal. Of course, the company seems to think he will go on to wrestle somewhere else due to the fact that he no longer has to answer to anyone but himself.

Bryan and those close to him say the opposite and believe he is done, but WWE is not willing to release him. This might be a good thing, because it appears New Japan is still after him. According to Daily Wrestling News, Bryan was cautious about telling anyone of his plans post-WWE. Whether this was done as a tactic to avoid any judgement, or whether he simply didn’t know what he wanted to do, skepticism arose.

New Japan wanted to make a huge offer to Daniel Bryan the moment he became a free agent, and they certainly could pay him just as much, if not more than he was making in WWE. NJPW felt pretty confident that they were going to be able to secure him once he became available, but plans changed on them with the retirement. An intermediary for Bryan, who is currently under contract with NJPW, told officials in NJPW that Bryan is not planning to wrestle any time soon. He may never perform again, which is something most of his fans are okay with.

NJPW was reportedly surprised and confused about his change of heart, if you can believe it. They felt confident that he would do some kind of work with them. Daniel Bryan is done with wrestling it appears, especially if he seems to be turning away from a deal he easily had ready for him the moment he became available. This is a good thing for Bryan, whom most want to see stay away from performing in a wrestling ring.

Sure, we would all love to see Daniel Bryan wrestle one more time, at least. We all know the risk in him doing this, however, and that makes most feel that it is best that he stays away from the ring. Bryan said that he cannot be around the WWE for a while due to the fact that the wound of retirement is so fresh, which is very understandable. Most of us cannot even fathom the idea of living our dream and then one day being told you no longer can do it. The fact is though, Bryan still lived his dream.

He main-evented WrestleMania, he won numerous championships, and he became one of the most popular stars in the history of WWE. Not many can even claim a quarter of those accomplishments. Clearly the wound to NJPW still has not healed as they want to bring Daniel Bryan in simply to have a star to counter the loss of four of their top names. It would sort of be a good F-U to the WWE for sure. It would be a very bad decision for Bryan to work there in the end, as Japanese pro-wrestling is much stiffer, and for a man who’s trying to avoid head problems, it would be a nightmare of a place to be. It is best that Daniel Bryan stays far away.
