Miley Cyrus has a few wild plans up her sleeve. First off, the pop star has sold some racy photos of herself, but it’s not what you think. It’s all part of her effort to help raise money for Planned Parenthood.
Miley Cyrus collaborated with photographer and activist Marilyn Minter in a controversial new photo shoot. The new racy photos of Cyrus will be featured in an exclusive portrait series to help raise money for the non-profit organization. The photo shoot includes 50 8×10-inch limited edition prints, which cost a pricey $5,500 each on Artsy. All proceeds go to Planned Parenthood, which provides reproductive health services to women.
The photos feature the 23-year-old pop posing naked behind a steamy glass as she looks off into the distance. Another photo shows Miley licking the glass as she writes on it with her finger. Although these photos do not show any nudity, it does suggest that Miley is not entirely covered up.
But that’s not all that included in the project. The former Disney star also filmed a racy and profanity-laced video from her bedroom that was played during the Planned Parenthood Annual Spring Luncheon at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
“Thanks for having me in my bed,” Cyrus coyly said in the video. “I want to unveil our M&M collaboration and hopefully make some big bucks for Planned Parenthood.”
Then Marilyn spoke out about her experience with having an abortion at a Planned Parenthood clinic in the 1970s. She said that abortion should mirror itself after the LGBT movement.
“I want to take our cues and inspiration from the marriage-equality movement. So, step the f*** up, everybody. Between us, we can do anything… This is only the beginning.”
“Thank you guys for all that you do, and f*** yeah!” Cyrus yelled to the 500 women in the room at the luncheon.
Designer Marc Jacobs has also joined the project and is producing T-Shirts that will include “a more risqué image of Cyrus” for $60 each, according to Artsy. The T-Shirts will be sold at Marc Jacobs boutiques and on MarcJacobs.com on May 16, according to Teen Vogue.
The shirts will also feature phrases such as “Miley Hearts Planned Parenthood and “Pro Choice Miley.” In addition, Minter will create buttons that will be sold at Shoot the Lobster and Printed Matter in New York, according to W Magazine.
When asked why she chose Cyrus to be involved with the organization, she simply stated “because she’s an activist.”
“And because we were trying to bridge the generation gap by involving a young star with young fans, she has 40.5million Instagram followers. She’s been famous since she was 11 and she’s a great artist, so she doesn’t care about making money, she wants to give back. She founded the Happy Hippie Foundation, which supports LGBTQ youth. She flies commercial because she’s conscious of her carbon footprint. Now she’s going to help us with Planned Parenthood.”
She also saved some praise for Jacobs, who collaborated with her on the shirts. “He’s always been fearless,” she said. “This could raise a fortune for Planned Parenthood.”
In the meantime, Miley has been planning her secret wedding to fiancé Liam Hemsworth. Although the actor has denied the engagement rumors, the singer feels in her heart that they are engaged. An unnamed source close to the couple told Radar Online that Miley and Liam are secretly engaged and they are planning a huge wedding.
“Miley and Liam want to have a summer wedding and they plan to hold the celebration close to their homes in Malibu.”
Cyrus and Hemsworth reunited their romance over the 2015 holiday season. Not only did they reunite, but they moved back in with each other. Then Cyrus was spotted wearing an engagement ring back in January. The source claims that Cyrus’ parents have offered to pay for the wedding.
