Location For ‘Saved By The Bell’-Themed Pop-Up Bar & Diner Revealed

More than two months after plans for a Saved By The Bell-themed pop-up bar and diner coming to the Chicago area were announced, the location for “Saved By The Max” has finally been revealed.

Back in February, organizers of Saved By The Max, which is intended to be an extremely detailed replica of The Max, the hangout where Zack, Kelly, Slater, Jesse, Lisa, and Screech from Saved By The Bell would often congregate, told NBC Chicago that they were extremely excited to be bringing the shop to Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.

“We’re really excited about the initial reaction for this pop up, and yes it’s a real thing. As huge Saved By The Bell fans, we promise to deliver the most fun month of Saved By The Bell tributes that principle [sic] Belding would be proud of.”

In a press release this morning, the mind behind Saved By The Max, Derek Berry, revealed that the shop will be located at 1941 North Avenue in Wicker Park and will open June 1. Berry also stated that the Storefront Co. location will be loved by Saved By The Bell fans.

“After just one meeting I knew that this space was perfect for us. We needed a place that would allow fans to feel as if they’ve been transported back to Bayside and are fully immersed in the universe of the show. The final look of the space is going to be a dream come true and deliver the grand slam nostalgic experience everyone has been waiting for.”

To help celebrate the reveal, organizers got actor and comedian Ed Alonzo, who actually played Max on Saved By The Bell, to do a video announcement for the opening.

Saved By The Max will feature a menu that contains food and drinks named for numerous Saved By The Bell characters, including AC Sliders, Preppy BLT, Macaroni & Screech, Belding Fries, Miss Bliss Candied Bacon, and a Lisa Turtle Milkshake. There will also be a full bar with what organizers are calling “Bayside inspired booze and cocktails.”

Reservation tickets for Saved By The Max will be available for purchase on Friday, April 22 at savedbythemax.com. While reservation tickets will be needed for dinner, brunch and late-night service will be first come, first served. The Saved By The Bell-themed shop will only be open during the month of June (hence the term “pop-up”) but will be open every day of the week. Following the grand opening on June 1, the shop’s hours are 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Monday thru Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Saved By The Max Facebook page is also promising a number of special events throughout the shop’s run.
