Beyoncé Bakery? Did Beyoncé And Greggs Really Hook Up — And Does She Use Steak Bake As A Foundation?

Beyoncé recently unveiled a full clip of her upcoming project, and now reports that Beyoncé is collaborating with Greggs is making the news. Perhaps Beyoncé’s Lemonade trailer, as reported by the Inquisitr, was the impetus for the new hoax article floating around that claimed “Beyoncé announces collaboration with Greggs,” a British bakery. According to their website, Greggs sells “pasties and bakes,” among other delectables. However, Beyoncé did not hook up with Greggs, reports Lead Stories.

Indeed, the hoax article about Greggs and Beyoncé did use plenty of the same wording that Beyoncé used during her Ivy Park campaign to promote her athletic line of clothing. The Ivy Park clothing line created such buzz that folks were buying the gear from places like Net-a-Porter and Top Shop and then listing them for sale on eBay for up to $500.

All the buzz about Beyoncé’s Lemonade trailer and Beyoncé’s Ivy Park clothing line has put her name in the spotlight once more. As a result, Beyoncé was ripe as the subject of a satirical article spreading around about Greggs. Apparently, Lemonade goes great with Greggs, and it would be ironic for Beyoncé to release an exercise line then team up with a bakery like Greggs.

According to the Daily Mash, Beyoncé was supposedly teaming up with Greggs, a bakery based in the UK.

The post about Greggs and Beyoncé teaming up has received more than 5,200 reactions on Facebook, with nearly 400 comments and more than 1,500 Facebook shares. Plenty of those people sharing the “news” about Greggs and Beyoncé don’t likely realize they are reading satire.

Greggs has no news of Beyoncé joining them to create such delectable treats, including pineapple and BBQ pork or “viscous sludge and peas” as a disgusting-sounding vegan option. The concept of the satirical article about Greggs and Beyoncé is pretty funny, however, with claims that Beyoncé was creating special pastry (or “pasty,” as they are called across the pond) dishes to empower women to eat.

Beyoncé is working with Greggs on a range of pasties designed to empower women of all shapes and pasty-eating abilities.

The Bey-ked Goods: The Dream pasty range includes The Porkylicious, with BBQ pork and pineapple, and Single Lady, a vegetarian option containing viscous sludge and peas.

A Greggs spokesman said: ‘Beyoncé came to us with a very clear vision and worked closely with us to create the greasiest pastry ever seen in our stores.

“‘These pasties and pies are for active, confident women who want to chomp down on some all-butter pastry on-the-go. They’re bada**** who aren’t afraid to arrive at a high stakes business meeting with some pie grease on their trousers or crumbs in their hair.’

“Beyoncé said: ‘When I was growing up, my father would wake me up every morning with a tray of pasties.

“‘The pasties became a state of mind. The pasties gave me my strength. The pasties are what made me who I am.

“‘Sometimes I rub a Steak Bake on my face instead of applying foundation, it gives me a natural oily glow.'”

The line about Beyoncé being awakened by the father every morning with a tray of pastries was in direct opposition to the line in Beyoncé’s Ivy Park promo video, which said that Beyoncé’s father awakened her to run in the mornings. The real big giveaway that the whole Greggs piece is satire becomes apparent at the end, when it claims Beyoncé rubs Steak Bake on her face in lieu of foundation.

As more folks realize the article about Beyoncé and Greggs is satire, they can settle in and get ready for more buzz beyond Greggs when Lemonade premieres April 23, on HBO at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
