Miley Cyrus Lunches With Liam Hemsworth’s Sister-In-Law, Elsa Pataky, As New Engagement Rumors Swirl

Miley Cyrus had lunch with Liam Hemsworth’s sister-in-law Elsa Pataky as new engagement rumors swirl around the young couple, E! Online reports.

Elsa Pataky, Chris Hemsworth’s wife, posted a photo of the girls-only lunch date on her Instagram.

“True friends are never apart, maybe in distance but never in heart! #girlslunch #la #bestmoments #loveyougirls #missyou @gisellamarengo @martamilans @mileycyrus #michele #nora,” she wrote in the caption.

In the photo, you can see Miley Cyrus, a popular former Disney child star, wearing a pair of high-waisted Mickey Mouse jeans and a purple and black striped top. Miley, unsurprisingly, is seen sticking out her tongue in the photo.

The chummy relationship between Liam Hemsworth’s sister-in-law and Miley Cyrus is reigniting rumors that Cyrus and Hemsworth are closer than ever.

As E! Online notes, the two had been dating for some time before splitting up in September 2013. But Miley and Liam seemed to reunite earlier this year when they were spotted celebrating the new year with Chris and Elsa at the Falls Music Festival in Byron Bay, Australia. Eye-witnesses said they saw the Bangerz singer and The Hunger Games actor “cuddling and kissing.”

Rumors of a Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus reconciliation intensified when Miley was spotted wearing her engagement ring. E! Online reports that this is the same ring that she and Liam co-designed when they first got engaged in 2012.

“The ring is special because Miley and Liam worked on it together,” a source told E! News.

“Miley specifically wanted it set in gold. She didn’t want platinum. She liked the gold because it was different and unique, like her. She didn’t want anything classic or generic.”

The prospect of the couple getting back together may surprise fans and casual observers alike. In the time they were apart, Miley embraced a more scandalous public image, particularly during the Bangerz tour in support of the album of the same name.

But it looks like the love between her and Hemsworth never died.

“Miley came back to LA after spending the holidays with Liam. She had the time of her life being with him and his family,” a close friend told E! News in January.

“She feels like they could pick up right where they left off. Miley has never gotten over Liam and always hoped they would get back together. She doesn’t know where it will go, but she definitely still loves him.”

But Liam Hemsworth may have a different story, at least where questions around his engagement are concerned. Earlier this month, Liam told Australia’s TV Week that he is not engaged.

“I am not engaged, no,” Liam, 26, said.

Liam also admitted that he’s been keeping a low profile recently because of an injury to his back.

“I just don’t leave my home,” the actor disclosed “For the last few months because I had a back injury I really couldn’t do much. So I have honestly been at my house most of the time.”

He also added that he’s never been one to go out of his way to attract the paparazzi.

“It is what it is and I am not someone who is looking for any more attention that I have and I try not to draw attention in any way,” Hemsworth said. “I don’t do things that do draw attention. So most of the time I fly under the radar. There is a lot of attention there but I did have a helicopter flying over my house for a while.”
