Jason Sudeikis went on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live on Thursday and ended up talking about his relationship with Olivia Wilde, according to the Huffington Post.
A fan decided to call into the show and ask when Sudeikis would marry Olivia Wilde, and he had an entertaining response.
“Jason, not to put you under anymore pressure, but when are you going to marry Olivia?” the caller said.
“I know this isn’t my mom because my mom’s in the audience,” Sudeikis said. “I mean, I believe we won’t get married until weed is legal in every state.”
Marijuana is currently legal in some form in 23 states, but it is still illegal at a federal level. It might be a while until it’s completely legal for the whole country.
The Bravo host, Andy Cohen, thought Sudeikis’ response was very funny and said he loved him for saying it. He referred to Olivia Wilde and Sudeikis as the “Goldie and Kurt of Brooklyn,” referring to how Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together for decades without ever actually getting married.
Olivia Wilde has responded to the same question before, most recently earlier this year, according to E! News.
“We are seriously connected,” she told The EDIT. “Before you have a child, marriage is the ultimate commitment and promise to one another, and then once you have a child, it’s like, ‘Oh, we’re committed and promised already.'”
Sudeikis and Wilde have a son named Otis, so they already have a very serious tie to each other. Sudeikis is known for becoming a Saturday Night Live star after he started performing on the show in 2003.
Olivia Wilde is a main character in HBO’s new show Vinyl, which focuses on the music industry in the 1970s.
Wilde recently made headlines when she revealed she had been told she was too old to play Leonardo DiCaprio’s love interest in the film Wolf of Wall Street. She was told at the time she had been labeled as “too sophisticated” for the role, which actually meant she was too old to play the part, according to the executives in charge.
Wilde also recently starred in a PSA about Down syndrome, and it focuses on how people with Down syndrome are seen by society and how it affects them.
Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde’s relationship started at an afterparty for SNL, according to Slate. Wilde recounted in March that Sudeikis approached her while people were on the dance floor of the party, and all he said was, “You know, whatever you’re looking for, you don’t need it.”
What might seem like a practiced pickup line apparently worked on Olivia Wilde, because they’ve been together ever since. Wilde recently told People Magazine that she’s “desperate” to have more kids with Sudeikis, so it sounds like they may be together for quite some time.
