Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber ‘Still Texting’ Despite ‘Strained’ Relationship
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are still in touch via text.
That’s according to Hollywood Life, which recently claimed that Selena and Justin are regularly exchanging messages following their 2015 split but admitted that things between the former couple are still “strained” after weeks of reports that the two might be looking to reconcile.
“Justin and Selena are talking over text but it is a little strained between the two right now,” a source claimed to Hollywood Life of the current status of Bieber and Gomez’s relationship earlier this week.
The site’s insider alleged that, while Justin and Selena’s recent text message exchanges are purely platonic, it’s thought that Bieber will soon turn on the charm in an attempt to win Gomez back.
“[It’s] just another day between these two, they can’t stand each other and they can’t stand being without each other,” the source added.
Reports that Justin and Selena are now back in touch come just days after E! News alleged that Justin was considering making a grand gesture for Gomez in an attempt to win back her affections, but Bieber supposedly cancelled his extravagant plans at the last minute.
“Justin wanted to rent out the Staples Center after his concert to do a repeat date night screening of Titanic for Selena because he is trying to get back with her,” a source close to Justin told the site last month, revealing that Gomez’s recent appearance at one of Justin’s Purpose tour concerts in Los Angeles was the catalyst for his supposed romantic plans.

“I don’t know why he didn’t go through with it, and I also don’t know if he ever even told Selena about his plan, but I do know he is really obviously trying to date her again,” E! News‘ source continued of Bieber’s failed plans to surprise Selena while the two were both in California.
“Bieber wanted to do something big and extravagant for Selena like this and had been making arrangements for the movie date before his concert even started,” the insider added.
But while neither Selena nor Justin has confirmed or denied reports that Bieber was planning on surprising the “Hands To Myself” singer last month, E! News‘ insider alleged that the two actually met up while Gomez as was at the popstar’s concert, which resulted in a blowout fight between the two exes.

“The speculation is that an argument had taken place between the two before the show since he cancelled the date plans,” the source claimed, “Something had shifted Bieber’s mood completely.”
Both Bieber and Gomez have stayed mum on rumors they’re planning to reconcile in recent weeks, though Justin did prove on social media last month that Selena Gomez is most definitely still on his mind.
The “What Do You Mean?” singer took to Instagram on March 19 to share a throwback photo of himself and Gomez kissing, which sent fans into meltdown online. But while Bieber simply captioned the snap with Selena “feels,” it turns out that he wasn’t the only one getting sentimental about his former relationship.
According to The Daily Mail, Gomez felt so inspired by the throwback picture that she left a comment of her own on the photo to let the world know that she thought it was “perfect.”
