‘The Division’ 1.1 Update Will Take Game Offline 3 Hours, Stats And New Trailer Shared

The Division 1.1 update is set to drop Tuesday, April 12. Ubisoft Massive shared the schedule for the release on Monday along with how long the game will be offline for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC owners. Additionally, some stats were shared from how many people play solo to how many jumping jacks have been performed since release.

The servers for The Division will go offline Tuesday, April 12, at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT, according to a post on the game’s forums from a Community Manager. Ubisoft Massive will take the game offline for approximately three hours while maintenance is being performed to bring the free update live.

The 1.1 update will be available to download around this time. It will weigh in between 4 and 4.7 GB depending on the platforms.

The infographic shared by Ubisoft shows one interesting stat for The Division. Despite being a heavily online game geared towards multiplayer, over 57 percent of playtime has been spent on solo play. It will be interesting to see how this number moves as more and more players finish up the campaign and reach end-game activities, like the new Incursions.

The Division 1.1 update includes the new “Falcon Lost” Incursion covered in a previously published Inquisitr article. The additional details from the patch notes include the names of the new High-End named weapons. The “Warlord” is the new assault rifle, and the “Valkyria” is the new submachine gun. Meanwhile, there is a “Historian” marksman rifle added with this update, but it won’t be acquirable until the 1.2 update.

The most controversial change listed in the new patch notes involves changes to crafting. Ubisoft Massive explained it wants players to gain High-End items more often via loot drops from killing enemies versus crafting them. Named NPCs will gain their own loot tables that grant specific types of High-End items as a result. Meanwhile, converting crafting materials will be changed to the following with The Division 1.1 update.

  • 10 Standard (Green) materials instead of 5 to craft 1 Specialized (Blue) material
  • 15 Specialized (Blue) materials instead of 5 to craft 1 High-End (Gold) material
  • 10 High-End (Gold) materials instead of 8 to craft 1 lvl 31 High-End (Gold) item

Deconstructing Standard and High-End items will be altered to the following.

  • Deconstructing a Standard (Green) item yields 1 Standard material instead of 2
  • Deconstructing a High-End (Gold) item yields 1 High-End material instead of 2

Another alternative way to get better gear will be through changes to the Dark Zone vendors. The initial requirement to purchase Superior (Purple) items is being dropped to rank 15 from rank 30. High-End (Gold) level 30 items will drop down to Dark Zone rank 25 from 50. Finally, High-End level 31 items can be purchased at rank 40 instead of rank 50.

Loot trading will also be implemented with this update for The Division. Players will be able to drop loot for others in their group to pick up. Note that this only works between group members who were grouped together when the loot was dropped. Additionally, it is only available for two hours from the time it was dropped.

Some of the new desirable loot with this update includes the introduction of four Gear Sets. Players will receive additional bonuses as they equip more pieces from each set. Equipping the four piece from a set will unlock a bonus talent. Full details of all the perks can be found here.

The Striker’s Battlegear is geared towards assault-style players. Tactician’s Authority is for team players who enjoy using their skills. Sentry’s Call is to make Marksman Rifle users even more deadly. Finally, Path of the Nomad is for those who want to solo in the Dark Zone.

The new Gear Sets will drop from Challenge-level activities with a handful of crafting blueprints available. The exception is Path of the Nomad, which will only drop from the Dark Zone.
