NBA’s Dwyane Wade And Lebron James, Twins? Only in LA

NBA stars Dwyane Wade and Lebron James are sure to confuse you with their similar appearances, or at least that’s the punchline in Lebron’s new commercial for Blaze Pizza.

The 6-foot-8 forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers added some humor to a new commercial for his latest investment, Blaze Pizza. The “fast-food” pizza chain puts a twist on the way the pie is made. Imagine Subway and Pizza Hut having a restaurant baby. Yes, that’s it.

In the commercial, James pranks customers by acting like a new recruit for the pizza chain, Ron. But the laughs come when Lebron is mistaken for Dwyane Wade by one of the ladies patronizing the Los Angeles location.

Blaze describes their style as “healthful, artisanal ingredients on the assembly line…Blazing hot oven + dedicated pizzasmith + 180 seconds = fast-fire’d, perfectly crisp perfection.” The chain even offers the opportunity to join in on Lebron James’ support, but only in Seattle. Of course, other territories in the U.S. and Canada have been claimed.

Lebron James Gets Uninterrupted

But Blaze is not the first investment for the multi-millionaire baller. In 2015, Lebron James was recognized as a “media mogul” by Fortune magazine when his multi-platform venture, Uninterrupted, received a nearly $16 million boost from Warner Bros. Entertainment and Turner Sports.

Uninterrupted claims to specialize in showcasing the athlete’s point of view. The site, hosted by Turner Broadcasting’s Bleacher Report, brings viewers an inside look at the lives of notorious leaders in various sports. One of its video streaming programs, TeamStream, has a lineup that currently includes mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey, snowboarder Louie Vito and NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr., to name a few.

Dwyane Wade Headed For Playoffs

While Lebron has been busy building his empire off the court, Wade has been busy making it to the NBA playoffs. After leading the boards in the fight against the Chicago Bulls, he followed up with double digits in the victory over the Orlando Magic. According to a CBS report, the team is working to keep their home court advantage when the playoffs open.

The Miami Heat guard also offered a little humor of his own when he was a part of a roast in tribute to Kobe Bryant’s retirement. According to Laker Nation, Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul honored Bryant with gag gifts and words of respect at a private dinner in Toronto following this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend. Kobe, talked to ESPN about his gifts, which included a mamba robe and underwear, among other things.

“It was great, man. It was really a great night. I saw them come into the league and they were a couple generations after me, so to see these players come up and grow and now being able to stand up there and joke about playing me for the first time and how I’ve inspired them throughout their careers and all this other stuff. It was really, really awesome. It was one of those things that I’ll remember forever.”

Bryant’s last day with the NBA is scheduled for April 30.

More to Come from Wade and James?

While Dwyane Wade and Lebron James have still made no mention of forming another super team in the future, their individual efforts are more than enough to keep them in the spotlight. Stay tuned to upcoming games to find how far the Heat will make it this season and check out Blaze Pizza, which may be in or coming soon to a major city near you.
