Heroic Arkansas State Troopers Surprised 10-Year-Old Toxey After Classmates Failed To Show Up At His Birthday Party [Video]

Arkansas State Troopers surprised 10-year-old Toxey Ahrabli with an impromptu birthday party after none of his classmates showed up for his birthday party on Saturday, April 2, despite sending out 21 invitations to his class.

A team of troopers decided to surprise 10-year-old Toxey of Hot Springs Village with a birthday party on Monday, April 4, after his heartbroken mother, Angela Andrews, posted heartrending comments about the frustrating weekend incident to Facebook.

Five troopers surprised the boy and his family by showing up at his home on Monday, April 4, with birthday gifts, including a Frisbee, razor scooter, video games, and a cookie cake, according to WHIO.

And despite their busy schedule, they stayed to play a game of basketball with the boy and allowed him to ride in their patrol cars. He also played with a K-9 called Rino, and visited him in his cage.

According to THV11, Arkansas State Police later identified the troopers who threw a surprise birthday party for Toxey as Cpl. David Frothman and his colleagues, Terry Sawyer, Kyle Sheldon, Brandon Cook, and Tim Callison.

Toxey was shocked but also delighted at the unexpected action of the troopers, saying it “was the only birthday that I have had with people coming.” He admitted he was overwhelmed emotionally by the thoughtful action of the troopers and “cried a little bit.”

“I cried a little bit because they did that for me. If I am remembering right, this is the only birthday that I have had with people coming,” he said.

When Toxey first saw the troopers in front of his family’s home in Hot Springs Village on Monday afternoon after he returned from school, he was worried because the family had never been visited by so many troopers.

“Scared and at the same time trying to figure out why they were here.”

But he soon realized that the troopers came to deliver birthday gifts and throw him a surprise birthday party.

“They showed me all the keys to do the sirens and the horn. I also got to see the cage with the dog in it,” Toxey said. “They had come to give me all that stuff and make up their own birthday party for me.”

Toxey’s mother Andrews was also delighted. She said the family would never forget the kind action. She also said she hoped the incident would sensitize parents and encourage them to ensure their children honor invitations to classmates’ birthday parties.

She told THV 11, “Just heartbroken and helpless. It’s the last thing you want to feel for your kid, that no one cared enough to come.”

“On Saturday night, I knew no one was coming,” she continued, “and I posted on Facebook just kind of like an outcry to parents. Just please if your kids get invited to birthdays take them.”

After the heroic troopers left Toxey’s home on Monday, his mother Andrews took to Facebook and posted a lengthy thank-you message to the Arkansas State Police. The message went viral on social media with many Facebook users expressing support for Toxey and his family and praising the kindhearted officers for their thoughtful action.

She wrote, “I don’t even know where to start because thank you just doesn’t seem good enough.”

Inspired by the action of the five troopers, Toxey said he now wants to become an Arkansas State Trooper when he grows up.
