‘RHOA’: Cynthia Bailey To File For Divorce From Peter Thomas, Couple No Longer Interested In Saving Marriage, Hired Lawyers For The Legal Battle?

Real Housewives of Atlanta showcased real issues in Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas’ marriage. Cynthia appeared to want to work things out with her husband and wasn’t quick to jump on the bandwagon that he was cheating on her. Bailey did everything in her power to try to make things work, but in the end, it just wasn’t going to work, no matter how badly they both wanted it. Cynthia announced on The Wendy Williams Show, according to BET, that she was taking steps to end her marriage to Peter. Bailey disclosed that she would file for divorce officially within the next week or so.

BET reported that Cynthia ended the speculation that circulated her marriage — when would she admit there was real trouble and would they be able to work it out? Apparently, the jig is up and Bailey has decided to end her marriage. It didn’t come as a huge surprise exactly; however, it was only a few weeks ago that Cynthia owned on the RHOA reunion show that she wanted to work on her marriage because she wasn’t ready to walk away yet. So what happened, and why the sudden change of heart?

“I really don’t know where Peter’s head is at right now. I don’t know where we are in this marriage. We have a lot of real issues that we’re dealing with. But you know it’s just another thing we put on the list.I have been taking some time for myself to just kind of figure out how I would like to move forward. We are definitely talking about taking steps to officially move forward in a different direction.”

Hip Hollywood reported that Cynthia and Peter had their share of trouble the past year, and having the reality show focus on their marriage didn’t help matters either. Thomas has been rumored to have multiple affairs including one that was caught on video and co-star Porsha Williams played for Bailey to see. Of course, Peter denied the rumors, claiming that the video didn’t show what actually happened. RHOA cast members urged Cynthia to see the situation clearly because it was apparent that Peter was not behaving like a married man.

Last week, social media was buzzing with claims that Thomas contacted a lawyer to make sure he was financially taken care of if and when Bailey decided to officially end her marriage. Allegedly, Thomas was vocal in that he wanted to make sure he got his fair share during the divorce settlement. Of course, no one knows if this is true, and at this point, it is only a rumor. Although it seems to be pretty much in line with how Peter has behaved towards his wife, Cynthia, during the last season of RHOA.

It looks like Cynthia wants to end her marriage as soon as possible, and Peter wants to make sure he gets every penny he feels he earned. RHOA fans hope the settlement can be reached quietly and won’t cause Bailey too much stress because the past few months have not been easy for her. Of course, it is possible that she may drag the divorce out a few more months, and it could be her main storyline during the next season of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
