Harrison Ford Arrested In Huntington Beach? Actor Allegedly Framed With False Online Record

Harrison Ford was arrested yesterday at noon, according to a bogus report on the Huntington Beach online arrest log. The actor appeared to have been taken into custody on charges of domestic violence and possession of controlled substances.

It’s unknown how the arrest was reported, as the Han Solo and Indiana Jones actor is currently outside the United States. This wouldn’t be the first time Ford was framed for a crime he didn’t commit, as he was the star of the classic Tommy Lee Jones action film The Fugitive.

In the film, Harrison Ford played the role of Doctor Richard Kimble, a man who U.S. Marshall Sam Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) came to believe was responsible for the death of his wife. As we know by now, the real killer was a man with a prosthetic arm (the one-armed man). The similarity to the plot of The Fugitive makes this bogus arrest eerie, aside from the accusations of drug possession.

There is no other record of Ford, or anyone with his name, having been arrested by Huntington Beach Police, and it may have been the result of a sloppy hacker job. The case number doesn’t match the numerical list pattern of any other similar cases, meaning whoever made the entry may have been attempting to pull an elaborate prank.

The problem with this kind of prank is that it’s a legal offense by itself, as altering police records is technically obstruction of justice. Much like “swatting,” it takes law enforcement away from their jobs just to investigate a false threat. There are actual crimes being committed every day, and police are supposed to be investigating or arresting suspects, not being led into a media prank.

Huntington Beach Police are investigating how the arrest record appeared, since it clearly matches the description of the Star Wars veteran. The name Harrison Ford, age 73, doesn’t match the identity of any arrests made in the time period specified, and the actor is currently involved in shooting the sequel to Blade Runner, which begins officially filming in July. Police added that they have never arrested anyone by that name at that age.

If Harrison is guilty of anything, it’s of being exceptionally private about his personal life, a trait that wife Calista Flockhart undoubtedly appreciates. He also recently made a suggestion public aimed at whoever plays Han Solo next. He told them not to, possibly because he is aware of the backlash the new actor will receive if they don’t get it right. Fans of almost anything Harrison Ford has starred in tend to be especially picky and perfectionists, as George Lucas learned after “fixing” Star Wars too many times before stepping down.

The Huntington Beach Police Department has since removed the phony arrest log entry from their online database, but they are still looking into whoever may have put it there.

The real Ford is no stranger to public pranks, either, as he made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show where he confronted “Chewbacca.” The elaborate prank ended in the two hugging it out, and earned plenty of laughs from Star Wars fans.

No, Harrison Ford wasn’t arrested, so fans can rest assured that the sequel to Blade Runner is still on schedule.
