Khloe Kardashian Scared Lamar Odom Will ‘Go Back To His Old Ways’ After He Is Caught Drinking
Despite the vast improvements Lamar Odom has made in the past few months, it now appears as though things have taken a turn for the worse. While Khloe Kardashian has remained by Odom’s side throughout his recovery, the reality star is worried that Odom might be returning to his old ways. How much longer can Kardashian take the stress?
An inside source told Us Magazine that Odom has started drinking again. The former NBA star was seen at a local pub in Los Angeles, where he bought a few drinks and hung out with friends. Although Odom put himself in a risky situation, given his history of substance abuse, the insider revealed that he didn’t actually drink anything that night.
“He went out with Khloe’s security to meet some friends and get out of the house. He bought them the drinks, but didn’t drink himself,” the insider shared. “Khloe’s security guard was with him, which is just like having Khloe with you. He just wanted to get out into the real world for a second and feel normal.”
Even still, Kardashian is not happy with Odom’s decision to go to the bar. In fact, Kardashian and the rest of her family are worried that Odom will start using again if he doesn’t change his habits soon. For his part, Odom is not concerned about what might happen if he does return to drugs.
“Khloe and the family are concerned Lamar could go back to his old ways,” the insider stated. “Lamar refuses to listen to her. He actually said, ‘Nothing will happen to me. Look how I survived this last one.'”
Meanwhile, Khloe Kardashian has opened up about her relationship with Odom during her recent episodes of Kocktails with Khloe. According to Hollywood Life, Kardashian shared a little insight into why Odom felt the need to turn to drugs in the first place. Sadly, Odom struggled in accepting love because he always felt like his value was in materials things.
“He was also so… these are his words, ‘I never felt love that was so pure. Like I was confused why no one wanted anything else from me but just me,'” Kardashian explained. “And I would be like ‘just accept it. Why can’t you?’ And he would be like, he just couldn’t. He would be like, ‘you guys are so lucky. You genuinely want each other. It’s not like, ‘yo, can you buy me that purse?’ And not everything is materialistic.”
As fans will recall, Odom was found unconscious and close to death after suffering an overdose in a Nevada brothel. The NBA star had to undergo months of rehabilitation for his injuries, and Kardashian called off their divorce in order to support him through the process.
Although their divorce was put on hold, People is reporting that their current relationship is not romantic in nature. In fact, Kardashian is not even considering getting back with Odom and is simply offering her full support as a friend.
“She cares for him so much, and she just wants him to stay healthy. His near tragedy devastated her. It was such a painful time,” a source told the outlet. “She doesn’t want to go down that road again – for either of them.”
Although Kardashian is content with remaining apart, the same is not true with Odom. According to the Hollywood Gossip, Odom is willing to seek professional help for his addictions but only if Kardashian is willing to reconcile.
“Lamar really wants to have a life with Khloe, and he’s promising her he’ll go to rehab, if divorce is off the table,” an insider shared. “Deep down, Lamar wants to get better but even more than that, he wants Khloe in every way.”
At this point, it isn’t clear what will happen between the two. However, if Odom does not deal with his addiction, then Kardashian will likely follow through with the divorce.
